It’s World of Lovecraft. Has been for a while. Might as well get accustomed to it.
It’s time to end old god themes. When all 4 gods were alive they were no threat so why should we take 1 alone seriously. Azshara should have been the big boss, she gets 2 weeks of a patch instead.
What’s the topic? That Old Gods are boring? That you don’t want to see them anymore? That they’re not Gods? What?
The only posts in this entire thread where you’ve had any modicum of actual discouse is in your reponses to me. Everything else is you simply stating “I dont like [Thing] because I don’t think it’s good.”
I’d really rather not. Lovecraftian mythos wasn’t that interesting.
Yeah. That’s the thing with the old gods. We dealt with the most powerful avatars of the most powerful old gods in early expansions.
Now we are supposed to be scared of a depowered Nzoth? The weakest of the old gods?
Give me a break.
Completely agree. I just don’t think the trope is going anywhere unfortunately.
Someone doesn’t like something on the internet, and posts about it on relevant forum.
More news at 11.
Personally, I hope you’re wrong. Because it’s been really overly saturated recently.
Personally, I would have been okay with fighting Azshara a second time. This time not her just meandering around and taking you lightly while waiting for that lock to finish.
But her angry, actually actively trying to kill you, not playing Koi, not just fooling around until she dies from her over confidence.
I like that you’re wholly unable to give anything but a snarky response in place of an answer, because you don’t have one. There’s nothing you want to, or even can, discuss. You just want to constantly complain for no apparent reason, other than to complain and bicker.
The best part is that I’m also sick of Old Gods and wsnt something new, or at the very least have them handled better, which is why I came to this thread. But then I saw who made it, and saw tge same canned responses you always post, and I wanted to know why, which of course lead to nothing.
I’m being earnest in saying that I hope you have a good holiday. Adios.
I don’t see how me being the author of the thread remotely effects your interest in the topic.
Could have totally had a completely normal conversation in regards to how tired and boring the old gods have gotten.
Could have struck up a conversation in regards to what could have been a better alternative.
But no, instead you decided to just open with personal attacks that had nothing to do with the thread itself.
I’ve made plenty of non-snarky responses to people who weren’t openly rude and hostile the moment they entered the thread though. ![]()
Thanks for bumping the thread a bunch. I’m not really sure what you were expecting to accomplish here.
Happy holidays to you as well!

It does so by reducing said Old Gods to their basic elements… That’s how Reorigination works!
N’Zoth is Delirium, Nightmare, Void, Water and Twilight. Yogg-Saron is Death and Void. C’Thun is Death, Delirium and Twilight.
Like all of us >:c
Exactly, they aren’t special, they bleed and die all the same.
They ain’t no gods, they are just chumps!
think of the maw as a vaccuum cleaner. everythings going in there. soft lore reset.
Norse Gods bled and died just like everyone else and the Greek God Zeus threatened to kill Ares in the Greek Epics.
Furthermore the Canaanite Gods died as well and only Mot/Death seemed to work like Demons from the Twisting Nether with the rest aside from the Almighty requiring a manual resurrection…
Gods die all the time!
I submit that they should’ve taken an extra year to create Legion.
Then have it contain the amount of content that was in the original game. We could’ve had the entire planet of Argus. Really pull out all the stops. Blow the doors off the thing. Have the players kill Sargeras in some amazing way.
And then they should’ve ended this game. Because when they took the Legion out as the universe’s big bad, they basically ended the story of this franchise.
At least for me. Staying too long at the party is a thing. The way this game is now, it’s like Mass Effect after the reapers.
They’re called Old Gods in “Call of Cthulhu”… And they’re supposed to be some cosmic horror that will make you go insane if you dare to look at them because of ‘horror of the unknown’ and it’s something so massive your mind will overload. Something like PTSD but much much worse.
For me the sha were less interesting than the old gods. At least the old gods have physical forms.
Never been a fan of lovecraftian horror… never made sense… always sounded ridiculous.
Honestly hoping they take a long break from including these disgusting cosmic parasites in plots. N’Zoth seems to be the most annoying out of all of them.
