It’s hit or miss if we’re talking about pugs. I’ve been in BGs where there was 7 paladins and others where there was just 1 paladin (me).
Now if premades are doing this then that’s their prerogative.
how are you comparing 4+ pally with 4+ boomkin? you see 4+ pally cuz some are healers. 4 +boomy all with starfall is broken
some of the shamans are healers or (ew) enhance.

I’ve been doing WSG premades since p4 and AB/WSG since p5. I can assure you, no premade wants to stack Paladins.
In WSG, you want 1 hpal and maybe 1 ret.
in AB, you want 1 hpal and 1-2 rets.
Conversely, I have been on my horde and seen people spamming LFG for Ele shaman AB spam, which explains the AB premades i’ve seen with 6+ ele shamans.

Yes, there are a LOT of ret paladins playing the game. Most paladins are ret; most rets are not a threat. We all know most paladin players are one step above bots.

Shaman press totems, press pets, press chain lightning and flame shock = win… literally the most entry level there is. 5% of pallys actually farm the proper seal twist gear for pvp, even then the ramp up … even then no spread pressure… lolol

dont need to spread pressure when your IMMUNE TO EVERYTHING and able to 2 global the backline healers while being immune.
but we dont talk about pallies being op at all cause … well i dont really know why not cause they clearly are.

I think he’s more implying the strength of stacking the class in question.
If you stack ret paladins, sure they may be GREAT in the initial mid clash in a WSG or BS fight in AB, but every fight after that initial brawl goes in favor of the ele stack. Bubbling and burst is gnarly, but 5 rets have nothing on 5 eles once bubble is down.
Imagine being a melee class with a magic based stun with a 10 yard range. Now playout the scenario in your head of 5 rets vs 5 shamans. That’s 5 groundings and decoys to get through while every ret has 5 flame shocks on them instantly. Sure, they can cleanse themselves, but while they are cleansing they’re not seal twisting or doing anything but auto attacking. Meanwhile, the shamans can either purge the seals or just crank out chain lightnings/heals until an instant LB procs.
No one is saying ret paladins are not INSANE when their bubble is up, but the consistent fight goes to the ele everytime. Also keep in mind, ranged > melee without a solid gap closer.

for so long you guys have been on this crusade to gut and murder shaman as a class and you have pointed at every single aspect of shamans as a strong point and yet fail to see that :
hunters have been at or near the top of pvp rankings for the WHOLE OF SOD.
pallies have floated in and out of being strong or weak and are currently VERY strong.
moonkin are strong to busted every single big flat % dr meta and are currently the strongest class in the game and actually ARE WHAT YOU SAID SHAMAN WERE BUT THEY HAVE 10+ YARDS MORE RANGE.
all of this to say you fail to see on your own faction or class any of the strenghts of those you see in the other faction and are clueless about actual balance as a result.
i can say its almost never 5 full ret vs 5 full eles. its a mix of ele /enh/resto and ret/holy on the alliance side.
class stacking on either side is annoying to deal with and ya with well played characters it might be in favor of shaman but only slightly.
bubble is alot stronger of a tool than you or any of the but ret is bad people will admit to.
Lolololol hunters with no defensive lololololol no healing, shamans have better pets from a rune , speed increase of cheetah without the daze, range totems, free stun hahahhahahahahha literal delusion at the top. Literal delusion, again even with a cd they have more uptime than hunter pets… if a hunter wants a stun they have to spec bm which means they do no damage, then the hunter pets dies in a 3-4 hits anyways!
