When was this changed to 0? Halfway through tbc or it was in wotlk? Cause if it was changed halfway through tbc then why people are crying about it if it was going to changed to 0 anyways

The thing is that there’s still people playing right now who have no idea what was said in Blizzconline or how the game was promoted. They’re assuming a thousand things that are not based in reality.
We’re living in an “Expectations > Reallity” environment right now.
Mix that with the folks who don’t remember all the facets TBC had on release and are asking things like, “Why can’t I do SSC or TK?” Then they beg Blizzard for “fixes” to content that isn’t even broken in the first place. It is, quite simply, how they said they would release it!
What it comes down to is this jumbled mess of folks who assume so many things based on nothing but what they want and not on what has been told to them.
It would help if you had any idea what you were talking about before trying to make this post

These guys are assuming you’re trolling because you’re probably speaking in ignorance. However, as I pointed out, even if you admitted your ignorance and asked for an explanation, they would call you a troll anyway.
Long story short, if the issue was as simple as they think it is, they wouldn’t have to obfuscate like this.
Either the problems with arena are too complicated or they’re clear as glass. Make up y’all minds already.

Are you not allowed to say bye to people? I typed out like 3 paragraphs explaining MMR, he said he was confused so I tried to simplify it, then he said “Well guess you can’t explain it then”
Is there anything wrong with trying twice to explain something, then saying bye?
I was unaware that trying to help someone, then telling them to enjoy their day was toxic and or trolling

First the first time in forum history I agree with Beartroll. This guy is not asking a legitimate question, he is trolling.
However, the answer is blizzard began starting teams at 0 rating in patch 3.1.0 Wrath of the Lich king, season 6.
Wrath was also when arena got borked and shut down briefly.

I don’t remember ever starting at 0 MMR. Even if you did, it makes no sense. It would make no sense if they changed it a decade ago to 0, 10 years from now to 0, or today to 0. It kind of goes against what any good MM system would be.
Just to clarify, I had asked this question:
Okay, so if you haven’t proven yourself yet, why shouldn’t you start from the bottom? At 0, I mean.
Not saying this should be the case, but just wanted to know why it shouldn’t be.
And was promptly dismissed by Bearyalln without an answer to the question. Luckily, some other people were extremely thoughtful and helpful afterwards which I am greatful for! I hope this just goes to show that not a lot of people, including myself, are very knowledgeable abut the subject-matter and I don’t particularly like being called a troll just for asking about it.
