Slow responce locked out of account

My dad has been waiting a week for a responce to remove authenticator and update phone number he didnt save a restore code. And he cant even post in forum because you have to be logged in. ID:US86274153

Does he have a ticket number?

They didnt put one on the responce email. They asked for id he sent it but thats all.

When he first put in a ticket, he would have received a ticket ID. I really hope that he didn’t fall for a phish.

Im looking at the ticket right now theres no id. Also its the correct blizzard email

every ticket when you start it has a ticket number, even the ones you can submit not from an account. Id get your dad to submit a new contact ticket (if there is a record of it against his account they can link it, and he can attach his ID again) While theres a 5-7 day delay on things I believe locked account issues are alot quicker so make sure he is using account auth issues as the selection

Not sure why it would take a week to get resolved anyways. But ofc they had to take out live chat to save more money.

Live chat hasn’t been removed. Much like phone callback, both had set windows of availability during the day, only tickets have ever been 24/7.

Since the pandemic hit, however, both live chat and phone callback have been further limited, and then there’s the additional obstacle of some reported regional wonkiness.

But it’s still available for certain categories.

As for why response times are taking a week, it’s just an unfortunate perfect storm of events. They’ll return to normal before long, with any luck.

If you browse the forums youll see why its taking a week.

Wrath launch, ban waves for RMT, ban waves for non participation, all the appeals from those, and now a mail bug with people transferring servers.

But ofc its a chance to take a shot at blizzard staff since you dont like the wait time.

No one likes the wait time, just like no one likes the dentist, but its part of life :slight_smile:

Now if dad would have wrote down the restore codes, you and dad wouldnt be waiting now would you, but ofc thats too easy :slight_smile:

To be clear, that’s not a bug. That’s the system working as intended to protect people from losing mail during a transfer :wink:
