Slayer's Rise

Just played this BG for the first time just now. It is EASILY the worst BG I have ever seen in this game. I have no idea what to do in this BG, im not instructed in any way. It is so damn massive that i barely seen anyone the entire match from the enemy team. Then when I did, i started getting bombarded with bombs. Had no clue where they were coming from (was being shot from two different directions with the cannons) and by the time i figured it out, i couldnt attack the cannon with the person in it!? The hell is this garbage???

Then we were easily 100 points above the enemy team then all at once they just won despite us having more resources.

I am so sick and tired of gaming companies releasing their products with so many bugs. It’s asinine. Every single developer does it. Why cant you guys figure out that playability is better than profitability? You end up retaining more players when things work correctly than giving a bad first impression making people never want to touch it again.

Buddy, no one EVER knows what to do in any Epic BG when they first play it. 95% of people don’t know what to do in Ashran after their 100th game.

Seconded. I personally think Epic BG objectives need to be simplified or more guided with in-game prompts. It’s just not realistic to expect 80 people to understand the different nodes (and how to acquire points), to where it becomes more of a communication/familiarity test rather than actually PvPing. Also, some of the maps are way too large and need to be more intuitive to newer players.

Im aware of this but usually with new BGs or the likes of Ashran, it’s easy to figure out after a game or two. This, this is a whole other level.

And i STRONGLY disagree with your point about no one knowing what do do in ashran after their 100th game. thats just bs. Granted its exaggerated but within 5-10 games, you get the idea.

Blame the so-called epic battleground “communities” who couldn’t even be bothered to show up to test it out during beta.
I, yes, ME, gave the most feedback about this. I, the player all the epic battleground communities constantly try to say doesn’t play the game, played it and gave more feedback on it than their entire communities combined:

And

Where was everyone while there was still a chance for this to be fixed before going live?

You might be surprised to find out how many people still don’t know that Solar Sphere exists.

I mean i quite like it for the simple fact that it forces you to split the team up and not have 1 giant healer ranged zerg barreling at you in mid.

the cannons need a fat nerf though like right now.

What I noticed on the boss is that he gets a % damage buff based on the reinforcements left.

From 900-100 he casts a beam ability on the tank that hurts (right now with no pvp gear). Below 100 he doesn’t cast the tank ability anymore and only does AoE.

We pulled around 300 reinforcement and was manageable, so I guess with higher gear, you can attempt the boss at a higher reinforcements.

Backdooring this boss will be fun.

I have no idea what the other side objectives offer as benefits and if there are hidden powers.

The reinforcements seem to go down much slower than on Beta. Maybe there aren’t as many NPC to kill that drop by 5 like there was on Beta.

That’s after 1 run.. now I’m leveling my hunter for the real fun.

I’m still surprised Blizz is so out-of-touch with the PVP community that they thought we wanted an epic bg.

I don’t think I can find 1 post on here in the last 5 years saying “we need more epic bgs”

It’s way too big with all the wrong spatial elements that were clearly desinged for PVE, what would have the testing achieved, would they have scrapped the map? We had two fights as the teams accidentally met in the road, and then we just spend the remaining time mounted and running until it was over, just like you’d expect from a huge map.

It feels like a questing zone rather than a PVP map where the landscape doesn’t funnel people into hotspots so you get those tight engagements, meaningful skirmishes and frequent conflict, you know, the reason we play bg’s, there’s waaay more PVP action happening in the un-instanced zone so no point in queuing.

A lot of people wanted a good epic battleground, like Azshara Crater was supposed to be. Not… This.

Like it. Shows potential. Glad the devs introduced a new EBG and would caution those rushing to judgement this early in.

It’s funny, because there are no shortage of posts or comments about fixing the existing epics. ::melting_face:

Not enough people are playing in early release. Just wait for more people to start hitting 90 tonight and tomorrow and it’ll get faster

I actually got in to one with a 7 min queue time today, and it was packed. I asked and most said they’ve been playing it non stop all weekend /shrug.

Once more people reach 90, you’ll likely see more queues as people farm achievements.

Yeah, because if we have them they should work atleast. Lol.

A lot of people, myself included, gave feedback on this BG during the test with the devs. (i think, they said they were playing but who knows, they said nothing the entire time)

It’s crazy no changes were made, no summary of the goal of the BG was given, you can still even get stuck at a GY and have no recourse and spend minutes being unable to rez which I DID POST ABOUT. The win objective isn’t clear, the objectives themselves aren’t clear, and no changes? Alright. Cool. Every time I get this BG it’s been a stomp against the Horde.

Even if it worked as it should, do people really want to go capture points as opposed to attacking other players? Y’know, the PvP part of PvP? There’s so little conflict on this map that it doesn’t even really feel like a PvP experience.

It’s funny, because the War Mode version of this is actually pretty good.
