SL season 1 question

Is there generally a type of class that excels the first season of a new expansion like casters or melee etc, trying to figure out what i wanna play and maybe this would help narrow it down some.

Arms warrior is usually pretty broken s1

Mages, warlocks, arms warriors in 3’s, UHDK off the top 9f my head are all strong in shadowlands atm

Melee classes in general.

At the start of an xpac where everyones haste is garbage, melee can kick/interrupt a lot easier and the games much slower pace for casters. Not just talking about destro, but any caster.

Melee cleaves have a much easier time interrupting and avoiding spell damage.

ww cranked in vindictive and the beginning and end of dread

rogue mage warlock are all 100% safe

think hunters usually have something dumb op in 1st seasons

warriors are usually really good in early seasons

turbo was t1 in both vindictive and dread
i didn’t play much of either primal or malevolent but iirc arms was really good in both

on top of that arms is getting MAASSSIVE utility gains and good reallocation of damage

but you cant go wrong with rogue/mage/lock otherwise

Honestly, I wouldn’t listen to the posts saying Warriors. They’re not getting MoP Second Wind back, so they’re most likely going to be borderline unplayable.

Cant go wrong in 3’s. They are look8ng better than bfa BUT still suffer from the same reliance on healers where other classes get self healing

no idea if you’re starting to meme but i cant risk it with you being you

dstance + ignore pain scaling atm are actually SUUUPER insane for self sustain atm

I THINK MAGES COULD BE VIABLE IF THE LAST 2000 YEARS ARE SOMETHING TO GO OFF ahhhh ahhh AHH

Ignore pain eats up your whole rage bar! You know how l9ng it takes for arms to fill it? + its a finite amount of dmg absorbed.

it’s like a 5th of your hp bar, potentially a massive pressure swing

1/5th of you health bar for all of your rage. And its only a 50% absorb too.

Idk im skepticle ill haveto try it out. The fact that you cant use it in a pinch turns me off

drest is only like 1 5th of your health bar :)))))

who cares

if you’re worried about losing out on damage just remember a dead warrior does no damage

My point is you haveto deliberately not apend rage and then use ignore pain. Its useless if the enemy just goes you and you arent ready. If you are being trained by the time you save up the rage to use it you have already traded doing NO dmg to the enemy team for the lowered dmg you take.

It feels bad. Later in the xpack maybe it will be good

it sounds like you don’t know how that works. 50% means that it’ll absorb the same amount of hp but it’ll require twice as much damage to deplete the shield. that means twice as long until whatever damage is hammering you will be able to burst you fully without contending with ignore pain.

the tradeoff is that if you use it at RLY low hp it’s possible to die through it but the answer to that problem is just play better. it’s a REALLY short cd, using it proactively is probably very rewarding

pooling resources isn’t a unique concept in wow

if you know the other team has a go or damage coming up just stop mongoing the slam button for 10 seconds
