hi im a casual player due to time restraints, not going anywhere though and im loving sl so far, the reduction in gear handouts was needed. Too many entitled babies ruining the social aspect of the game. Raids and group content is supposed to be best with a guild of friends, the games an Multi Player Online game. You arent supposed to be able to do everything solo!
Iâd consider myself a hardcore player and I agree with OP entirely.
I want to play the game hardcore, I donât want RNG. Low drop rates = RNG. Corruption = RNG. Get rid of the RNG aspect of gearing, or at least mitigate it with bad luck protection, bonus rolls, etc.
Furthermore, M+ should scale up to mythic ilvl. Players should be able to get rewards for the difficulty of the content they do in proportion to that difficulty.
This is great news, if shadowlands is really setting records itâs more likely many old time wow players have returned who are used to loot being loot instead of this free thing everyone gets for anything. I actually hope casuals leave over this so the game design can continue to trend in this hardcore direction which happened to make WoW into the game it was back in the golden age of it
We need a sticky so people stop saying wrong information on the mythic+ great vault.
Helping someone else, or running low keys can never, ever, downgrade the loot you receive from the great vault.
Option 1 - Highest Key. Or more accurately, youâre lowest Key out of your top 1.
Option 2 - Your lowest key out of your Top 4.
Option 3 - Your lowest key out of your Top 10.
If you ran say, 15, 12, 12, 10, 10, 10, 6, 5, 7, 4
Option 1 - Loot for the 15
Option 2 - Loot for the 10 (lowest of your top 4, being 15, 12, 12, 10)
Option 3 - Loot for the 4 (lowest of your top 10)
Maybe that 7 and 4 you ran at the end were helping a friend and now you feel that your option 3 sucks. Well, without running them you only would have done 8 and not even had an option 3.
So? By the time you could spam enough 20s in a week that this would be an issue youâd already be full clearing mythic. Furthermore, even with an increased drop rate the amount of time you would need to spend in keys to get proper itemization would be so large as to negate the repetitive aspect.
Currently you need to spend about 6-7 hours a week doing keys (assuming you only do 14+ and they are all in time) to get your great vault maxed for M+
A full clear of a raid after prog is about 2-3 hours typically depending on raid size, etc.
Iâd rather we have too much loot than not enough, and I really donât care if people want to put in the time and effort to grind out their gear early. PvPers should be able to as well.
Raiding is not the penultimate content anymore. If anything, itâs the easiest of the 3 endgame pillars.
For me SL was a step in the right direction. Bfa handed loot out like candy, the gear difference between a fresh 120 and someone who had been raiding or mythic+ running was insane.
SL makes the gear pace slower but i see this as healthy for the game, torg changes each time i run it and i find that fun. Theres more to work towards which keeps people playing on current content more while blizz can take more time working on new content, bfa was a rush of really shallow content patches that players where done with barely even a week after they where published.
+17s have already been timed, with 226 gear not even in the game and mythic+ loot caps, and you think people will need full mythic clear gear for 20s?
To get the same great vault reward as a +14 for raiding you need to do mythic raid. Getting 3 options requires a full CE clear with 95% of servers never even accomplish.
âA full clear of a raid after progâ doesnât even occur on most severs because nobody clears it.
