I know WOW isn’t targeted to the physically disabled but there is a huge player base of disabled players that play WOW.
In SL Torghast is not doable if you have severe CP with limited hand movement.
The nerf loot and ilvl makes raiding nearly impossible. Why is every raid boss like Mekka in BoD and has 7 mechanics? I hate the dancing boss with a passion in the raid. I can’t even out-gear the raid since Blizzard nerf all gear drops and done away with titan-forging.
I use to do a lot of gold-making in BFA but there is no barrier to entry to crafting so everything is in the red. Try mining and herbing on my druid and I run into 400 bots.
In past expansions I could figure out how to get things done but not this one. It seems like Blizzard is too focus on the Asmongold and the Bellular that want the Dark Souls experience in WOW.

Like you said in the first line - MMORPGS in general are not designed to be fully playable(or honestly intended to be) for disabled people. With the game genre comes fast paced actions. It’s unfortunate but that’s how it is.
As for bots, that’s just something we have to live with now sadly.

You could try using a controller and seeing if that’s easier. They added APIs in with Shadowlands. While that doesn’t directly equate to direct support, it makes things easier for the people who make third-party addons/etc.
You might have more luck with Warmode on. Most bots/farmers avoid it so they can’t get ganked/camped so you don’t run into that nearly as much. Obviously, there is the risk of getting attacked but it’s not as bad as you might think in most places.
If you need slower paced raiding I think Classic might be a little more your speed, and I’m not saying that to be mean.

I guess it depends on what kind of disability you have. My mental issues got me put on disability, I don’t feel like I have much trouble playing the game. Sorry to hear you’re having issues

Hand movement might be something where you need to figure out your control scheme.
Someone managed to play WOW with a Guitar Hero guitar years ago, there may be something that maps better. (There is or was someone who played League of Legends using their cheek, there are workarounds)
The nerfed loot doesn’t make raiding impossible or nobody would be able to raid. Clearly people do, but it’s far easier with a guild. You don’t need to overgear content to do it.
Bosses have 7+ mechanics because the playerbase has gotten better at the game over the many years its been out. Gone are the days when a boss having TWO mechanics made them raid boss material.
Gold making strategies changes from expansion to expansion. Check out your server and see what needs sold.
The only “Dark Souls” experience in WOW is that Revendreth feels like it stole its art design from it. If anything people have been complaining for the entirety of WOW that Bliz keeps making the game easier and easier (regardless of that being demonstrably untrue).

as someone that’s disabled, I’m kinda insulted that you used disability as a front to complain about loot drops.
if you had just stuck to mechanics I would’ve agreed with you, but the complaints about ilvl and gear drops peppered throughout make it clear that you’re just using disability to garner sympathy for an entirely different argument

sorry you took what I wrote wrongly. I meant that I use higher level gear to help overcome the lack of DPS I do and the more damage I take in the encounter. Its a thing I use in a lot of other games as well.

The raid is certainly very challenging for an intro raid, at least at the intended ilevel it was designed for. Even mythic raiders were struggling that first week to clear heroic (which hadn’t happened to them before in the world first race).
I don’t know what to tell you, except that this might not be the game for you anymore. If anything, Blizz has greatly stepped up the difficulty of their instances and content over time, and given the designers’ focus on high-end raiding I see no reason to believe the current team will change course.
Other games wouldn’t even bother to include a mode like mythic raiding, let alone the lengths Blizz goes to in order to make it the crown jewel of their game. For good or ill, they’re doubling and tripling down on that formula.

Honestly, there’s not a whole lot they can do about it given the way the game is designed. They can’t just slow down the GCD and cut out movement requirements. The game isn’t built that way.
(That said, FFXIV is built that way if you’re willing try a different game. Combat moves noticeably slower and the game has incredibly robust controller support and movement options.)

I’d agree, that might be a better option. As I recall back when I tried FF14 the combat was much slower, most encounters had little more than very obvious telegraphed attacks to worry about, there were plenty of badge-like systems to earn gear from a variety of content, crafting was its own entire gameplay mode with its own gear, the single player story was robust, etc. etc.
That might fit the bill a lot better. WoW has become very top-heavy in its content focus.
This is absolute truth. Google the following: FF14 gamer with feet. PC Mag did an article on a gentleman who does not have arms. He plays FF14 very succesfully with his feet and a controller.
Obviously I am not implying this would work for your specific disability OP, but it might help you think outside the box on how you can enjoy the game.

I have CP, very limited control/use of my left hand, i use a razer naga mouse, “with my right hand” Which i wish had more buttons. I am also going to try the controller software/mods, just haven’t wanted to put in the time to customize and learn the software. Also the microsoft adaptive controller and accessories are a possibility but that’s spending money without knowing if it would be easier to use or just a pain.
He already mentioned this:
As someone with severe RA who has limited hand movement, I understand his situation. I’ve found a mouse that works best for my issues. A controller might be helpful, but I’m not sure. There aren’t many that are conducive to hand problems. It’s why I can’t play console games.
That’s really cool. I use a Roccat Kova as my mouse. I turn the DPI really high. I use that in my good hand which is my left. I did try a MMO mouse but it didn’t work for me. I use the number pad as my action bar for my right hand.
It’s very possible to both play and be ‘moderate’ at WoW as a disabled person. You just need the right tools.
Things I find most useful are;
Downside being that for some classes creating a sequencer is not going to work. Paladin and BM Hunter it’s basically near perfect. You even just need a single shift mod for AoE. Other classes don’t work at all with it.
With the right tools expect to do content like LFR and dungeons up to mythic as well as your standard content like the story and WQ.
Yeah I went fully PC gaming after the SNES period. Keyboard and mouse is better than a controller. I guess its because you don’t hold the keyboard or mouse like a controller.

I wonder if a trackball (or trackball mouse) works better than a simple mouse…?
The simple mount is better imo with two large side buttons in my experience.
SL is made for “leet” raider sand all the rest of us can gth it seems.
After huge initial subs, the game is dying fast though so maybe they’ll revisit this kinda policy for the next patch.
