The year is 2024, and the skirmish queue still works like it did in early 2010s :
- no ready check
- no ilvl floor
- no loose MMR
The year is 2024, and the skirmish queue still works like it did in early 2010s :
It’s almost like you want 30 minute queue times
Just do away with the battlegrouping it still has for some reason.
Ready check and ilvl makes sense but mmr? At that point it’s just rated…,
No because loose MMR means it’s OK to put 1000 1000 2000 together against 1350 1320 1330
You know, like in many “normal games” of other competitive games
I kinda get what you mean, Overwatch has (had?) this. Quick Play never led to long wait times though regardless of your MMR, it is surely possible to “match MMR as best as you can but optimize for queue speed”.
The matter is: Is it worth the time investment? I bet Warcraft doesn’t have a generic implementation that lets them leverage the same matchmaking they use in Overwatch, and PVP isn’t worth the investment.
The best thing about shuffle is when the second guy doesn’t show up and you 1v2 them
No ready check necessary. Easy work.
I think it’d be cool if blizzard added cosmetic stuff and minor achievements for doing proving grounds style skirms vs the ai.
Give people a bunch of honor for it, or something
I was really hoping they’d expand on proving grounds by adding a few cosmetics or leaderboards, then doing something similar with the comp stomp bots in a sort of doombots mode.
100%. Teaching people about kicks and CC.
Basically just more mage tower stuff.
Fail to kick CC on healer while not crossed and you get a mild electric shock.
Skirms could use some QoL adjustments let’s not pretend like it couldn’t
At the very least they could make it so a lobby isn’t created until all participants accept the queue
so i can go through 5 minutes of declines?
A small price to pay if it means i don’t gotta thug it out solo against the double MM duo with offensive names for the third queue in a row
Just channel your inner unga bunga and win the 1v2
or get lucky and have a 2v1
Starting skirms without all of the players is obviously asinine. there is just zero reason to do this and it should be changed.
The other 2 are fine though. it doesnt need to be some type of game mode with prohibited entry.
It just goes off arena architecture where the games are created immediately and whether or not people join is optional as opposed to shuffle where the mode can’t work unless everybody is present.
Ready check was implemented by minkies and i can prove it mathematically
Being ready means being mounted
But selecting the ready lever dismounts you
Thus making you no longer ready
This would be awfull
What’s more dead, skirms or RBGs?
