You can actually skip both the tree boss and the dragon boss in DHT and I’m pretty sure it still counts towards completion as normal.
To skip tree- just dont kill all of the lurkers, or if you do don’t pull tree.
To skip dragon, just go right after tree, instead of left.
Both have been possible since Legion.
