I thought we got a week to exploit bad game making decisions before they were fixed???
Kind of wish they had an expansion long item like this…I don’t like hunting for every single new slot every season.

Agreed… Contrary to what Blizzard seems to think, some people just like to play the game for awhile once they max their gear… I want off the treadmill.

Yeah and a ring is a good choice in my opinion.
Do we know if this ring will be relevant next season? Like Im done with this season but if its gonna be something were expected to have ill do it i guess

All gear is borrowed power even leveling gear if you look at it that way the only difference is things like Azerite gear was that it like Legion’s Artifact Weapons were borrowed powers that had a much greater affect over game play then random items like the upcoming ring because the gave back passive abilities taken away during the great pruning after WoD.
Azerite as well as Artifact weapons and even add in Covenants/Soulbinds from Sl were also mandatory for their expansions to the point that without them there was no way any max level toon at the time was doing any thing above Dungeon /Raid finder
So out of fear of being left out of groups… you’re going to stop playing completely…
Guess you didn’t really care about those groups to begin with.

Yes. Gear is borrowed power, but it fits within the acceptable range of borrowed power. Slamming a piece of gear that blasts damage for you at an ilvl that is currently not obtainable makes it an unacceptable level of borrowed power, especially when you tag on the ‘forced’ open world grind along with it. There are a lot of people who can’t find any fun in trivial content who will feel the need to grind said trivial content to do the challenging content they enjoy.

I wish we could get Ring at begining of season and upgrade it through entire season/expansion.
Ive said something like this would be great, or a back piece like the one we had in panda remix, upgradeable item we can work with.

I think a lot of people aren’t realizing how many like us have lots of alts and/or don’t run high content so these keys are a fun power spike

It’s always fun to read the replies from the try-hards on stuff like this. For probably 85% of the game this is a BIG upgrade on whatever they have now. But those 15% just cry because they simply have to go farm it, for their 1% increase in player power.
Meanwhile the rest of us are looking at like 610 item level rings on our fingers and were plenty happy with the 619 old option.
what a brain dead take. no one cried about the ring tapping out at 639. those 15% you’re talking about just weren’t going to use the ring until it was fully upgradeable 6 weeks from now bc it would not be better. which means they probably wouldn’t come back for it until 6 weeks from now. Since they buffed it to start at 639 and go up to 658 now you will get people coming back for it so they can have it maxed for next season or raid tier, and thats just more game time subs for blizz instead of most of those players not bothering for a month and a half.

100% man, I want everyone to have fun. That’s the point. I don’t really wanna do grind island, I find that sorta content really boring. Likewise, I don’t think it’d be fair to you to dump all the ring gems in keys, so everyone would be forced to do that. My thought is that anytime someone needs to do ‘x’ content to get gear for ‘y’ content, that is a failure on Blizzard’s end.

People will always love playing victim in any scenario.
Players doing a victim role because they think Siren Isle is a must do content.
Playing victim because theres players with higher iLvl so they are degen-tryhards.
Victimizing themselves because if they have a hard time doing M+5 then dungeons are over tuned, un fun, hate them, take them out of the game.
Playing victim if people love spending dozens of hours playing and get Myth items and they can’t, then the game is unfair since they cant have access on Myth items by the content they do.
And the list goes on and on.

This is easily no different than the M+ folks that complain about how because delves have good gear and it’s easy they are “forced” to do it, or like this ring, it’s easy so they are “forced” to do it.
The upper end victimizes themselves constantly. Don’t be in denial.
the divide of those geared for ANYTHING BUT QUESTING vs those who are stuck grows wider while raid groups struggle to fill slots…fun times
