The ring is fine. It’s gonna help me feel more encouraged to do more difficult content. And that’s A-OK. I’m not gonna push for title or even bother to do KSM. At most it might help me get AOTC, but we’re a small raid group and the overall benefits we’ll get from the ring is a huge plus. I
Spymasters could probably use a nerf or the other trinket could use a buff.
High-gear players: New 11.07 ring sucks, why would I bother. What a waste of time.
Devs: Guess what, we made it great!
High-gear players: Now the new ring is good, that sucks. I have to bother. What a waste of time.
whyyyyy whyyyyy D: why u do this.
Sorry to hear this as well.
Sad times incoming indeed.
It has no baseline secondary stats and the effects are nerfed in PvP. So, if you feel compelled to grind it for PvP? You would be putting a lot of faith in RNG procs compared to having more of your secondary stats.
Remember when Twilight Devastation was one-shot in arenas? We can’t have anything like that again. This ring needs to be nerfed harder into oblivion for PvP so that it is not an option.
Corruptions were an entirely different beast, during a time of titanforged corruptions with % scaling. I got rating-based elite transmogs for the first time that season running with a holy paladin that out-DPSed DPS with a bunch of gushing wounds.
Can I wear 8?
This is exactly what the devs face, and I am not a defender of Blizz but they literally can’t win with this ring.
If it’s below mythic raid gear people say there’s NOTHING in this patch… if it’s good enough finish next season people complain they HAVE TO do it
Can’t wait for them to nerf it into the ground half way through Season 2.
Isn’t that what happens all the time since we shifted towards seasons?
It will be gutted within 0-3 weeks of S2 launch to make sure you want S2 rings even at lower ilvl. Will happen on day 1 if the devs remember that RWF is a thing and want to drag it out. Otherwise it will happen the reset following world first kills.
This thing isn’t even borrowed power, it’s fancy catchup gear.
I’m probably going to skip this patch entirely. I genuinely hate these types of items they add in like the Onyx Annulet. It forces you into grinding them out or be left out of a lot of groups.
i’ve learned one thing in the last 20 years and that’s to never get excited until it actually goes live.
This was inevitable.
No one would bother with the 6 week siren idle grind for a sidegrade.
The ring would still be an upgrade at ilvl 639 for anyone who doesn’t do mythic raids or +10 keys in sesaon 1. Even as someone who has done a few +10s very recently, I only have 1 myth track item each on both my warrior and dk (neither of which are rings). I would need to get 2 rings on each toon by the end of the season and fully upgrade both of them, which is unlikely this late in the current season. The ring would be replaced at the beginning of the next season, which is what I would prefer for anything available at any point in season 1.
looks at my 606 ring
I would have been happy with the ring the way it was, but I’m not going to turn down the buff
( I only just finished levelling my warband so I’m going into this patch with a lot of alts still sporting rings from DF; then again I’m a bit fuzzy what the minimum ilvl will be to be able to safely poke around on the island )
1 month and a half too late. Everyone’s quit
Makes sense they’d buff the ring. Who’d wanna spend 6 weeks grinding a ring that’s basically a sidegrade to a crafted ring?
Haha! Ummm… Have you never played one of the many classes that have proc dependencies woven into their mechanics?.. Or even better, looked at how crit works… RnG procs are a core part of WoW design. This ring will proc large stat boosts, one of the PvP trinkets procs haste… Ultimately its a choice to grind and level it up incase it ends up being superior to a PvP ring or end up playing catch up…
Spin it anyway you want people will feel obligated to grind out this annoying ring and Blizzard knew that when they boosted the rings power…
Disable the ring in BGs/Arena let the open world PvP players do what they want.
