BlizZard is trying to have it both ways by forcing people to grind for a ring in season 1 that supposedly will last into season 2.
How did that plan work in the last expansion?
When BlizZard rug pulls people for the ring into season 2 don’t expect sympathy from me on that front. Trust me…BlizZard will activate the monkey paw sooner or later when it comes to borrowed power between seasons.
My trinket gives me a new effect, when I take it off I don’t have the effect anymore
Trinkets are borrowed power
My ring has a special effect, I lose that effect when I take it off
The ring is borrowed power
My bracers and belts have bonuses, I lose that effect when I take it off
They are borrowed power
My shoulder, chest, gloves, and legs give me a tier bonus, I lose it when I take it off
They are borrowed power
My cape gives me stats, I lose it when I take it off
They are borrowed power

Yeah we love rings that remove player agency (like removing up 3000-4000 haste for a lot of classes), so now my class feels worse to play but I have “play the game for me” powers that just happen on their own. How exciting.
I love how we tranish the integrity of the ladder 3/4’s of the way through the season for aboslutely no reason. This company is a so disconnected from what makes sense for their games it’s pathetic.

yep, basically “borrowed power” players would be happy with a toon naked, zero gear, since every piece of gear boost our stats.

yes tier sets are all borrowed power but its the good type of borrowed power
an item you have to grind for is borrowed power. this cyrces ring is a full on grind

Worst part is they make changes to classes based on reaching certain secondary thresholds and then they are tone deaf by releasing this ring in conjunction with the changes to classes secondary stats in TWW alpha months ago.
It is quite clear that their own teams do not communicate with each other.

The article says upgradable up to 658. No mention of it being equivalent because of gems.
The charges bank up, though. You can just log in and do them all at once at the end of the season.
They certainly are fueled by feelings more than anything else
