And yet people spend all day complaining about covenants and corruption…
Let an elf dream wouldja!
I might do it for shiggles though as long as my abilities work.
Now THAT could be interesting. Main hand being the heavy two hander, off hand being the lighter one hander.
Its a dual weild trope I’ve always liked. Though usually its a long sword and parrying dagger.
This is a bit of a narrow way of looking at things. You don’t sim your BIS only, you sim the gear you have, sometimes your 1-handers will be higher ilvl and be better, sometimes your 2-handers will be higher ilvl and be better.
Gahh stabbed through the heart by one of my favorite dks!
overly dramatically falls to the ground in despair
that’s pretty sick, so many one handers that look great, and won’t clip through the floor on my dwarf that i wanted to use, and worgen warriors get to transmog into fist weapons
Obviously, but there is a very real obsession with “BiS or bust”
And if (when) one is better than the other at the BiS level the complaints will come like they always do about how they don’t have a real choice because one is better than the other.
Which of course is rediculous, but when has that ever stopped complaints?
If it works how it has in the past SMF normally is used in the start of an xpac because it gives a nice boots until one can get those better two handers. Then after that most play titans due to those better stats.
I always loved SMF because I always liked playing something that was less played. That makes it fun for me.
Dang. Warriors were already getting all the things in SL - now they’re getting SMF too?
This keeps up, we’ll be seeing Gladiator Stance make a comeback. :x
(Seriously though, this is awesome.)
The problem with reintroducing SMF is that they will have to create 1h weapons for warriors again, which means they will have to be pretty good at balancing them in comparison to 2h weapons, be it stat or proc wise. I honestly would just rather they allow us to transmog 2h weapons into 1h weapons and call it a day.
Wouldn’t they just use the weapons Frost DK, Prot Warriors and Prot Paladins use? Why would they have to create new ones?
Gonna be interesting to see how this works out. 8% damage is probably gonna get outscaled by 2h weapons, but its very possible we’ll end up with some situation where 1h might win out. We could have 2 1h geti’ikku like weapons that might make the difference, or a case where the final boss of the raid tier both drops higher ilvl loot and that loot has a 1h weapon and no 2h weapon.
We might also see weapon speed differences changing stat weights since 1h weapons have faster attack speed and thats what makes the rage happen. I think the silliest possiblity is if we get a 1h geti’ikku style weapon that is so good that it beats out a 2h slot and you have warriors using a high ilvl 2h mainhand and THE 1h weapon in their offhand.
Imagine having the option to go full ragemode with a pair of boxing gloves and choosing to use two oversized sticks instead.
I like the way you think.
Yes, but I assume the talents and abilities might play a factor in balancing all of the 1h weapon classes, now adding warriors into that pool. The way I see it, its gonna be a suboptimal spec or will just trample over 2h weapons. They don’t have a good record on balancing damage among all classes.
I remember back then when frost dks were a tank/dps hybrid spec. dual wielding frost DK was trash. They never balance these things well.
And then they won’t get invited to keys or raids because of their choice. And then we will relive the exact reasons they removed SMF in the first place…
Typical DH, taking a dump on everyone’s fun just like in game.
I was curious that with the return of 2-handed Frost DK and WW Monk, if they would also bring back SMF. Here’s hoping that it makes it to Live so Fury Warriors can have the option to choose.
