MoP red enchant was available for three seasons and is available now for achievements from two seasons. WoD is available w/ achievements from 3 seasons. Legion enchant was available for 5 seasons and BFA enchant was available for 4 seasons. There is no precedent for the expansion weapon illusion to be removed after one season and a second one added. They should have clarified it was going away long before the 2 week warning.
This is not true lol. None of the exclusive pvp cosmetics are sold anywhere in SL.
Also to reiterate pvp illusions have historically lasted throughout multiple seasons and since Blizzard didn’t announce any changes to this until a few days ago it was safe to assume that this illusion would be no different.
People are surprised by it because it literally was never done this way before.
Thats right. Everything is added when you unlock it. I forgot about that change.
I also can’t click on the Feat of Strength so I guess these rewards actually are not mentioned anywhere.
After browsing I can’t find any mention of any of the appearances anywhere… it all just sends me to FoS which doesn’t seem right. I think there was an oops made somewhere.
I think you guys have made a good point and I need to do some digging.
The elite armor appearances are fine because you were able to view the armor from the start of the season from your appearances tab and it literally says “Limited time set” but the illusion is nowhere to be found.
It’s a bummer
Nope, I had 13 days.
I knew about rated transmog, and I got that first week on 1800, then stopped to do m+ instead since I figured I got time for 2100 in other seasons. So no, this was not a nice move on their part.
So to reiterate:
A PvP enchant, historically offered throughout an entire expansion, has been cut-down to being offered during a single season without any notice prior to the 9.1 announcement.
I’m not sure why you’re trying to defend Blizzard’s poor communication and overuse of FOMO, but it looks beyond atrocious.
This is a season format so even if Blizz doesn’t give you a long-heads up. Just best to assume that it’s only for the season. [tip for next time and for others]
Except it was available for several season when unstated in previous expansions.
PvP has been in a seasonal format since 2007 with 4 other PvP illusions offered over the last 4 expansions in that time and none of them worked this way. It is not illogical to assume that sinful flame was this expansions PvP illusion and that it would continue to be available.
Geez, I know… I’m just saying that this team and their head are now going full fortnite season mode and I SAID IT’S BEST TO ASSUME IT’LL LAST ONLY A SEASON unless stated other wise.
Yes, seasonal in that sense, I mean seasonal as in the fortnite mentality. They are doubling down on FOMO. Back in 2007, that concept wasn’t a thing like it is now.
That guy’s post was liked by a “nemesis” of mine who really hates me. In my experience, the people defending FOMO have often been very toxic. Maybe it’s because wanting your fellow players to lose out on content is toxic in and of itself.
It seems to me that with every expansion there is more and more transmog, mounts, titles, etc., that’s limited and removed after a patch or two. Not a fan of it.
In Vanilla, it was just the Scarab Lord mount, and the unarmored epic mounts. Now, it’s everything.
To be clear to people that hate exclusives - this was always going to be an exclusive reward that people that complain about FOMO would be upset about. The only difference is that it is only lasting 1 season instead of an expansion. It would be removed at some point regardless of how this worked out.
It’s because their whole design direction is trying to force people to play.
“Play this patch or miss out on these exclusive rewards!”
“Log on daily not to miss out on conduits from callings!”
“Do Torghast weekly not to miss out on Soul Ash!”
Rather than making the game fun to play, they resort to manipulation.
I can see why they do it. It keeps people playing and gives a lot of people a reason not to quit mid-expansion. But it’s a shame all of these decisions and decisions related to what content they put out, is solely influenced by engagement metrics and money, which affects its quality and long-lasting replayability.
As an extremely casual player, seeing this poor me talk is just ridiculous. Go back and read the TOS. You need to re read what you signed up for.
This is their game, not yours. You’re just paying to rent.
I know It’s harsh but it’s the truth. Sorry if I sound like a dink.
I don’t see why any of that is relevant. They are paying customers who support the game, and Blizzard is being unethical.
Yea but all of this is vaguely explained in the tos. We are playing blizzards game, not the other way around.
Unfair treatment or not, we signed up to be test dummies.
