Sin'Dorei Shadow Priests

Look, since the Void-Elves ‘lore’ introduction; it’s indicated all blood elves who practice magic or terms in correlation to or with the void are exiled / outcast from their society.
I mean I obliterated void-beings with my void-dagger when in void-form and after they all shouted “VOID IS NOT PROHIBITED AMONGST OUR PEOPLE!” I was like “Uuuuh… Me & Xal’atath are coolbeans though right?” during the Nightborne recruiting / showing Thalyssra the Sunwell.
It kinda bends over on all roleplaying Blood elf shadowpriests … I’d love if there was lore dialog or something. Like example being Rommath realising the danger of void elves pose - especially being sided with the Alliance, and creating an elite force that deals with shadow & void - albeit away from the Sunwell, as a means to defend it, Quel’Thalas and the Sin’Dorei.

If you took a second to look, this very specific topic was already addressed.

Seems they’ve got rather distracted on aspects that don’t matter in the subject.
I tried making a comment of my thread into it but it seems it was overall ignored. :frowning:

Let’s not forget Warlocks and Sub Rogues since they also use Shadow Magic.

Having Blood Elf Shadow Priests still exist in Silvermoon would just make the Void Elf story look even more dumb imo

I’m sure there’s a narrative difference between void and shadow priests. Since Legion’s rework, I’m not sure anyone should accept shadow priests.

There’s a clear difference from being a user of void magic( warlock, rogue, Zpriest) and literally becoming a conduit of the void (Void elves)

The void elves got kicked out because they were looking for another source of power outside of the sun well to tap into.

They didn’t get kicked out for practicing simply practicing they wanted it as a new font of power.

Shadow Priests literally go into VOID form, and use VOID magics. The difference very very slim. Shadow is pretty close to the basis of Void on the chart of Alignment in the Warcraft Universe (Which you can see in Chronicles books).

Having Void Elves period, makes Blood Elf Shadowpriests ALREADY - HAD lore & existence look dumb as hell, and sloppy all over.
I feel when it comes to class-lore with Horde characters, Blizzard can be half @$$ed to put in effort.
Most iconic classes, are Alliance based. And the only Horde based ones there are, are either evil & dead or knocked out of commission. I use to love following lore & be entranced with the storyline and whatnot; it was a major reason why I played the game, but I now I just feel sad @ untold narratives / reasoning / gaps in story. There use to be times where there was a reason, and there was a drum roll of anticipation, but here it feels like they were just lazy lol
And

No there’s not. Rommath literally said ANY elves who TREAT with the void are banished & not allowed within Quel’Thalas. The Void Elves were banished back when they were still Blood Elves - BEFORE they were resulted as a ‘conduit of the void’.
And Blood Elf Shadowpriests & few other practitioners are literally using another source of power from ‘outside of the sun sell to radio’ so that statement is absolutely unquestionably incorrect.

Totally agree with you.

I find it depressing to be honest. Blood elf shadowpriests use to be dandy / roleplaying ezpz, and now Void Elves came along & it looks like someone turned on the blacklight in the Nightclub rave ‘Moonguard’ of Goldshire. < Shudders >

Hopefully Blizzard can offer dialog - or even a quest to justify the Blood Elf Shadowpriests / Shadow & Void users. Like Rommath setting up elite force to take care of the threatening ones, or some other means …

I don’t even want Void Elves to exist, but if they have to exist, then having any form of Blood Elf Shadow priests be allowed in Silvermoon just cheapens it and makes them worse. Besides, like Apolloraza said, they were exiled before becoming Void Elves in the first place, so i’d rather them just completely outlaw all shadow/void magic in silvermoon than make some super flimsy justification for BE shadowpriests.

Sub Rogues using shadow magic was such a garbage decision.

Why would anyone want to be weeb-tier discount Naruto’s when they could be Batman?

I do agree Void Elves cheapen the lore of quite a few things, but mostly spits on the Blood Elf Lore & classes.
Although I’d rather them not have a ‘flimsy justification’ but a pure, awesome - in depth justification. Like Aussie mentioned, either having a group of those that hunt threats; or perhaps an underground movement ‘in the shadows’ as it were. Perhaps have a hidden organisation network - which is then found out, but allowed by Sylvanas / to have pardon amongst the Kingdom (Provide they serve given plans ofcause).

The issue is that their goal at that time wasn’t to be Void Elves, it was just to research how to use Shadow Magic.

Because you can already do that with Assassination.

Because they wanted a ninja class since they were making Comba- errr… Outlaw a pirate-themed spec.

Because memes…

Shadow Priests who aren’t Void Elves dont have Old Gods speaking in their heads, so they’re not “treating” with it, by definition.

Void Elves were exiled before becoming Void Elves, thus not having whispers in their heads yet IIRC.

I feel like ALOT of people on this subject in multiple threads, don’t really know jack squat about the lore… (Thankfully a few of you glorious champions do).

The amount of times others & I, have to remind people they were exiled - Pre -transformation into Void Elves - AND that Rommath said “…Anyone who treats with the Void is a danger…” and thus exiled.

It was nothing to do with the elves being Void Elves / ‘Conduits’ or ‘Vessels’ !!
It was purely on the basis they treated / continued to treat with the void, and any who do so are exiled. - THATS the thing people are ticked about (Because it blurghs all over Blood Elf Shadowpriests / other Shadow & Void users lore & story) the most.

Perhaps they could add another source of power they derive their Void Powers from… Other than, y’know … The Void. lol
And then add quests / extensive dialog etc to show that, and express that - particularly to the Sin’Dorei / Blood Elves; and make their ‘already-cannon’ (Which isn’t really NOT cannon but it’s messy at the moment) more stabilised, and fun again.
