Simplify classes and spec

I hope moving forward with the war within they (blizzard) will simplify all of the classes and specs in the game and make them less complicated to play and have all specs to have a opt in complexity and not forced complexity. Arcane is undoing this design philosophy and hopefully all the other classes and specs will get the same treatment. Classes have to be more accessible and less complicated than it is now. Albeit some of the specs got simpler in Dragonflight but not enough.

I think they gonna complicate it even more with the hero talents lol

The game needs more passive attacks (especially passive aoe) and less buttons. I die a little bit inside every time I progress into my talent trees and come across another button I have to add to my bars…

Especially when that button is just : ā€˜ā€™ click me and that other spell will reset its CD hehe’'… horrible…

Voting a hard no.
The game has been dumbed down enough as it is.

Complexity is already opt-in; don’t play Radiant Spark on Arcane.

That’s the catch 22 though. Anything that’s more optimal is deemed ā€œmandatoryā€ and ā€œforcedā€ in this community.

All I know is the trees intimidated me for a long time and in the end it was kinda stressful and it didn’t even help. Theres a meta, and most never deviate from it. If it got simplified with a few essential branches making a clear difference, I’d be okay with it. I just don’t want it getting MORE complex. Thats my concern. Nothing I hate more then relearning a class I was comfy with.

They’re simplifying Arcane? Yeah, I’m done with this game, lmao.

There is already an ā€œopt-inā€ option for a simplistic rotation. No1 is forcing you to take talents the complicate your spec. YOu can talent into an extremely easy rotation if you so choose.

I think they regularly do this to specs that don’t get engagement due to difficulty.

I’m ambivalent on it- I really like WW in its current rotation but they are turning some skills into passives coming expansion.

Others like Kyrian Harmony on Arcane I personally wasn’t a fan of and I don’t mind them changing.

What I do when I’m trying out a new spec is I just use that default tree setup and then tweak it from there

If you use the default it obviously sets up the whole tree for you and obviously that may not be optimized but at least give you a chance to get a feel for what blizzard says is half decent

And then as I’m playing I will see that okay this other talent would actually fit here better

I think they did a really good job doing it this way
And I sincerely hope they don’t make any big drastic changes now that it’s actually somewhat useful

There have been examples in the past where a spec required a lot of work but would only reward with mediocre output. In those cases, the specs would often lose players because the effort was not worth the reward.

Outside of a few outliers, I think most specs are fine as is. A few do have some button bloat even if they aren’t really regarded as ā€œcomplexā€ and that is still just annoying and frustrating if you have 15 different cool downs to manage. I think addressing some of those concerns would help make more specs accessible without really making them ā€œsimplerā€.

I guess streamlining without over simplification.

The hero talents will do barely anything but a #increase. Almost none change they playstyle, just enhance it…which changes zero playstyle. So I’m not worried about them

Flame shaper for devastation is going to be nice because the only thing it changes from current Devastation is that every minute you would follow up a fire breath with two engulfs.

Wow we actually agree on something. Someone check on the firelands and see if they’ve frozen over.

Also, posting in yet another bait thread from Tyraelz

I despised the pruning that Blizz did way back when. I’m guessing I was not the only one given that things have been more more or less reverted to their previous options (not prefect, but better than pruned). Nothing says that every ability must be in your rotation or that you must use it at all.

No, that’s boring.

Ideally there’d be a mix of simple and complex specs, rather than making them all one way or the other.

This thread is hilarious because I feel like I went back in time.

We’ve ready done all of this. They dumbed down the classes and made it all simpler and easier. They even took buttons away if you weren’t the right spec so it would be even simpler. Blizzard gave us exactly what we asked for, and it wasn’t long before we begged for complexity back.

The talent system has a meta and it was too cookie-cutter and we had no choices. So, Blizzard chopped it down to only a handful of meaningful choices, and we still found the meta and eliminated free choice on our own. And we longed for the old system back.

This is just a never ending cycle, isn’t it?

While I agree some complexity and button bloat needs to be dialed back, OP gonna be disappointed since heroic trees will add additional complexity.

Simplifying all Classes and Specs would quickly lead to boredom for many players to the point where they’d leave.

You could just watch a streamer playing WoW, that way, everything would be passive!
