Have you seen Murder Row and the Scar? Silvermoon definitely needs a revamp! At least put a polymorphed dragon somewhere to change Quel’thalas back to how it looked before the Scourge.
And I understand the amount of resources and effort that would need to be put into redoing that entire zone – which is also tied to outlands, so there is that issue. The developers already can’t create good content… imagine what it will be like if they wasted their time redoing silvermoon.
So what would you like the developers to stop working on so they could do that instead?
So they shouldn’t update old content because it’d be bad. But their new content is also bad. So what SHOULD they be working on?
Nope. They don’t deserve anything.
So if you really believe the developers can’t create good content I can’t imagine why you would keep playing the game. Unless, of course, you are one of those people who love to hate the video game you are playing. In that case it would be a feature, not a problem.
Well, if I were in charge I’d be working on getting some fresh talent in and getting rid of the people who are only focused on their yearly bonuses.
But to answer your question… they should be focused on making the best dang quality content for the current and future patches/xpacs. Not solo games like dragon riding, not repurposing old content, but creating great stories and content (quests, instances, etc.) that goes long with those stories. Oh and they should dump this external gear power thing they do and focus on finally balancing all of the classes/specs. Their fix it as we go mentality doesn’t work and only frustrates their customers.

If Silvermoon City and Quel’thalas was adapted even slightly to resemble this concept art, it might give Suramar a run for its money. Quel’thalas as it stands right now, is a sad sight.
That being said, a zone revamp of that scale would be incredibly resource and time intensive. Hypothetically, if ever there was an expansion centered around Quel’thalas, I think a revamp of the Blood Elves territories could be possible.
Just want to mention, they did try it in cataclysm…they also gave up.
The fact Silvermoon City hasn’t been revamped is one reason I stopped playing WoW. I lost patience. It also made pathfinder a zillion times worse than it would have been, not being able to fly in my favorite city.
Everyone keeps talking about “massive resources”. This is a multi billion dollar company and that just got bought by one of the richest companies in human history. They have the money and the resources. What they also have is typical corporate greed. And you excuse it with these kinds of statements. I would think that keeping the capital city of the most popular race in game by far up to date should be considered standard fare.
Unlikely. Since they don’t do that with starting areas. They’d have to revamp quests. And Velves can’t be near the sunwell.
You should ask the Night Elves and Forsaken how that worked out for them.
They didn’t even get a revamp though. That just got wrecked. They didn’t do any graphics update to those areas.
There ya go.
People aren’t asking for war to play out in those areas. Which is completely different than a graphics update.
Who said anything about war?
The Sunwell exploding for unknown reasons and leaving Eversong a crater and the Ghostlands a smoldering pile of ashes works just as well with Blizzard’s M.O.
You are, because you are comparing it to areas that had war play out with no graphics update.
I don’t know how you equate the two.
Actually, those areas did receive graphic updates. Swap between Darkshore in the past and how it is now and tell me there haven’t been graphic updates. Similarly, do the same with the Undercity.
There isn’t any change other than mobs. I’ve moved between both of them pretty frequently.
