Silenced week before wrath

Why did you silence my account out of nowhere? I only got one or two warnings over a week ago and now you randomly silenced my account right before wrath??? How can you do this to someone? You dont even have an actual human reviewing the reports because I just got silenced today out of nowhere and I haven’t said anything to anyone that is a breach of social contract since my warnings over a week. So I think you all owe me an explanation and an apology and to unsilence me. Obviously anyone getting reported is just automatically getting silenced for a week. How is that an effective strategy? What am I paying you for? So that randoms on the internet can randomly report me and your system will instant silence me for no reason?

Seriously, if yall dont fix this I will honestly cancel all of my wow subs, this is straight up garbage treatment of your paying loyal customers

Silences are not automatic, just to clear the air. Squelches are, but those are a different story and would have been doled out with the warnings from a week ago.

It is quite possible that today is the day the reports that generated those warnings were dropped in front of a game master. They would have made the manual decision today. So it’s good to know that reports are taking roughly a week to reach a decision.

If you wish to file an appeal, you’ll have to follow the process that should have been emailed to you to have another game master look into it.

Ugh seems like its an automatic thing, i got two warnings a week ago and i was like ok ill chill out in bgs.
then today i log on do a couple bgs, some person was going at it again, we all reported him. logged back on and I had a silence. What…

Ticket times run around a week right now. The same goes for reports in game that result in Silences or Suspensions. A silence is a first level penalty. Further penalties will likely result in suspensions from the game.

If you feel it was an error, then be sure to put in an appeal ticket. The forums are not a means to appeal. Ticket is the only way to do it.

OK so what is the point of a warning if you silence me? I got the first warning and stopped talking to people in BGs altogether…and then you reward my improved behavior by silencing me? I would imagine after two or three warnings the silence would take effect??? not oh you got a warning heres your silence a week later, thats just a terrible system

Enough warnings and it ends up being investigated by a GM who will decide if a penalty should be applied. From your first post, you had more than one warning. Like I said, the wait times for human reviews are long right now. It is entirely possible it took that long for a GM to review your accumulated reports.

MVPs/Council folks don’t work for Blizzard. I did not Silence you. I can only explain the current policies in place and what means you have to appeal, which is a ticket.

So I’d like proof of these alleged reports, because I was fine this morning. But someone decided to report me for reporting them, and now im silenced.

What exactly did I say that was reported? Because I know that whatever was reported today was complete BS. And no one reviewed anything.

That should come up in the appeal if appropriate.

The warning was because enough players felt you were violating the rules.

The silence because GM staff found evidence of said violations.

The penalties can and will increase, be mindful of the rules.

Regardless, no one is reviewing these. If some random person reports you three times for saying nothing wrong your account will get insta silenced for a week.

You seem to already know:

These warnings were reviewed by a GM, and they determined that you deserved a silence. You are allowed to appeal, if you would like.

A warning is not a judgement on what you said. It is information that you’ve been reported by multiple people in a short amount of time. Those reports are still reviewed for rule violations.

Do folks still get emails sent to them with what they were silenced with? I would check your email.

Check your spam / promo folders too it could wind up in there.

Regardless of what you are saying, if some random person reports you three times for saying nothing wrong your account will get insta silenced for a week. Because that is what happened to me.

I think they can ask for that on appeal. Then they get a sample of the reported text.

The forums do send an email with one of your posts that a GM acted on straight up though.

You have no idea how many reports it takes to hit any sort of threshold.

Further, your complaint was that your penalty was a week after you were seeing warnings. The means it is very much not automatic.

Incorrect. Every silence is reviewed and applied by a GM.

Incorrect again. It takes many UNIQUE reports to get squelched. It only takes one report to get silenced, when a GM reviews the report.

Yeah I highly doubt that. I got a warning over a week ago, and now when I see people acting out I report them and tell them. And then the person reported me back for nothing, literally within the hour my account was silenced.

So what exactly did you say to the folks?

Sure, that is what you should do if rules are broken.

Harassing others though, or spamming about it, can get you reported too. Never say anything. Just report and put them on Ignore.

You have no idea if they reported you or not. You can’t see that. Further, your first post claimed your warnings were a week ago and only now you got a penalty.

You can’t have it both ways.

Truth is you have no idea what got reported, by how many people, or how long ago it was. All you know is that right now you have a penalty and if you want to try to get it reversed, you need to put in an appeal ticket.

Tickets are taking close to a week right now to answer.

Since the report puts someone else on a temporary ignore, there’s no need for you to tell them, simply report and move on.

Doubt what you want, but these are the facts.

And a GM reviews the reports that generated that warning. That’s why you were silenced.

Good job! Personally, I appreciate when players effectively use the reporting system to help end the toxic behavior.

Not sure about telling them, but you do you.

That is also their right. When a GM reviews that report, if you did nothing wrong, then nothing will come of it.

Because they reviewed the reports from a week ago. GM’s do not review reports instantaneously.

This morning? Nothing bro. They were spamming quest sharing in AV and i told him to stop. and he started cussing me out in BG chat. And literally me and like 5 other people reported him. And he said he was going to report me back. and then i come back after a break and im silenced.
