It’s not only tokens, of course, but the likes of the 6 month sub mount as well. As I’m aware the achievement didn’t change until recently, and the aforementioned came out before it. No doubt enticing for anyone on such a subscription who might otherwise have let it lapse, and the relative silence of the change slipping in - no downtime, no announcement, et cetera - smacks too much of convenience for me.
Like I said, I think we’re just fundamentally opposed on the issue.
The way I see it, even if it’s not connected the optics of the whole thing is just bad.
And that’s exactly why they’re disinclined to speak on it any more than they have. Optics are terribly important to any creature concocted to proffer profit, more even than its actual health.
I wasn’t expecting to have to do Normal since for 3 months it’s said LFR, so was in no rush to get super geared up.
I just came back 4 or so months ago and was working on alts, this character, my highest geared being one of them.
I have done LFR on this character (got 3 tier pieces), but again I just made them recently, I had been away from WoW for over a year, and then 2 weeks leading up to the Season we also had the EXP boost.
You are indeed lying.
It does not, how stupid do you think people are? Can you do anything other than lie?
Yeah, still not a source, provide a source saying LFR was not supposed to be Rated. An achievement saying “complete Fated on any difficulty” does not translate into LfR is not getting Fated.
No, cause you’re outright lying. Provide a source saying LfR was not supposed to be Fated.
I am not.
I mean people have to be pretty stupid to assume that the slimecat would be available from LFR.
Wowhead is a source. You just don’t like it because it proves you wrong.
Already did.
Allright, here’s my line of thought. You saying they were leading us on implies it was maliciously done on purpose which can only mean two things.
A: you would sub for the mount only because it’s LFR. Seeing that it’s not, you would then promptly unsub. In both case, whether you can get the mount or not, you’re just staying for a month.
B: if you really want the mount, you can then drive token sales up because of boosting sales.
Because B is entirely player driven, I’ll ignore it and focus on A.
1- You are now subbed for the sole purpose of getting the mount. The mount is still in LFR. You play 3 tuesday and then done. You just wasted 27 days of your 3 days, a little less if you take more than a day to do a fated raid. (Possible, but as I’ve done all of it in normal in less than 3 hours, I can doubt.)
2- You are now subbed for the sole purpose of getting the mount. The mount is now in normal+ only. But you subbed already. What do you do?
- Spend your full month complaining about it with no resolution and no gain whatsoever.
- Get gear, gain possible friends, put the effort in, maybe even, (serious doubt on that but still) take a liking to normal raiding that makes you wanna continue in the future. All the while actually making the 30 days worth it.
TLDR : blizzard gains nothing except hate from this change because lfr mount or not, you’re only here for a mount so the malicious change is pointless. Which means it’s a mistake.
Should they apologize? Maybe. Should they change it back? I don’t think so.
Oh, God no, that thing put the ug in ugly and I hate raiding,
That was an hypothetical, for everyone upset about this, pointing that Blizzard would gain nothing out of this change is there was malicious intent, proving it was just a mistake.
My confusion is why the mount is allowed for normal and not LFR? They don’t feel that different to me, I don’t have a problem either way but it seems like it would be fine if it were in LFR.
I think they gain token sales. From what I’m reading, normal is extremely easy for guilds. From what I experienced, it’s a nightmare for pugs.
Meanwhile, Lower Kara is a completely overtuned nightmare. Grimrail is a completely overtuned nightmare. Medivh in Upper Kara is a completely overtuned nightmare.
We haven’t heard a word about actual game play impacting issues, and the last slime cat mount is slowly dying off wondering why they weren’t offered an explanation.
Here’s the explanation:
LFR never gets mounts.
As I pointed in the previous post, boosting is completely player driven. And you don’t have to do it.
Edit: it would be a really poor argument to messing up with, according to them, the biggest playerbase.
It’s partially player driven. One could argue creating situations where one wants to buy carries is Blizzard driven.
One could argue that putting the second place mount behind normal raiding is a Blizzard created situation to sell tokens.
One could argue that conspiracy theories in a video game are dumb.
Companies like money. There’s nothing dumb about that.
Of course they do. The dumb bit about it is assuming that token sales were the motivation for not rewarding endgame content in introductory content.
Why is it dumb? They sell tokens. In 9.2.7 they’re creating a boosting chat channel. We know that even devs participate in selling boosting runs.
It’s not a stretch.
It’s a stretch. It’s conjecture. It’s complete speculation.
Viewing everything through the lens of conspiracy must make your eyes tired at some point tbh.
LFR doesn’t get mounts. There’s no need to reward introductory content with endgame rewards, regardless of whether you see spies everywhere or not.
We get garbage, you get garbage.
Enjoy.
Never a good reason to not make change
I disagree.
I never said it was fact.
I never told you what else I think is a conspiracy.
Except it does. Serpent, charhound, GMOD, undead horse, core hound and dragon.
