*sigh* Still waiting for Forum Ignore

Because how can I enjoy the forums when I can’t block out people like this? Folks not interested in discussion, or discourse, or community. Folks who just want to throw out haphazard insults.

Goodbye. Please review the forum code of conduct before you post in the future.

Edit: I should also mention that we do not allow players to call out one another on the forums, so I have removed the link from your original post Krelvos. In the future, please make use of the flag button that appears on a post to bring that post to the attention of our moderation staff.

We have seen the requests for a forum ignore, but we do not have any plans to share at this time.

Fair enough. I did flag that post in question. But that’s why I ask for a forum ignore, because flagging doesn’t seem to do anything at all. It doesn’t even block out the post in question. Do you guys actually look at flagged posts, even if it’s just one person flagging them? Or does something only happen if it’s numerous flags and it just locks the thread on its own?

Trust me, it DOES do something “maybe” as in some cases people just get away with whatever and then in some cases you would get silenced for some pretty tame things.

You just won’t see it because they won’t discuss sanctions, even with those that they sanction

Just be careful with what you post and always remember that if you check on the wording of the TOS; it’s very much favorable to this sort of selective justice in that it can be kind of applicable to many things.

Alrighty, fair enough. Thanks. Just wanted to know only because it really does feel like I have little recourse against bullying on these forums, whereas with the old ones I was able to block out people like that and continue to have a good time.

I hear you, I would LOVE a way to block out people also; simply to avoid getting pulled into a situation. For me it’s I like to engage the bullies; however that can backfire

Have a good one

You would be well-advised to ignore nonsense like that post above yours. There’s no ‘selective justice’. Every flag is looked at, and appropriate actions are given out. There are a lot of flags to go through, so it will take time.

I just want to second Dathrel because this cannot be stressed or emphasized enough. It is hard enough to discredit and fight misinformation to begin with. It is important to reinforce the proper information out there. What Dathrel said is absolutely 100% spot on correct. There is no selective justice.

Moderation is a simple binary decision. Did the proposed infraction violate our rules? Yes or no. End of story.

Other than that, moderators are human, and sometimes they do make mistakes. I had it happen to me one time. I appealed it, it got overturned. It is exactly what the appeals process is for. To safeguard exactly that. Nothing more, nothing less. But to suggest that there is “selective justice” is simply incorrect.

It’s all good, I was just wondering how things actually worked. I’ve flagged similar bullies in the past on these new forums and never really saw anything done about them. Just figured it was mostly an automated thing but I am glad that’s not the case.

Unfortunately, you will never know of any action taken against any individuals that may have had action taken against them. And as fast moving as these forums can be at times, it can be easy to miss when a poster may have gone on vacation for a day or two as well.

All you can do is continue to flag and have faith in the knowledge that your reports do get addressed and if a violation was committed, action will be taken.
