Sigh. Disappointed again (World Quests)

So… cap rep?

The WQs aren’t the problem, the rep grind is.

Why aren’t treasures, dirt, and mobs more of an issue, given they can be ground for endless rep?

Old Blizzard, maybe.

The team behind Dragonflight has been very quick to listen to feedback and make changes based on that feedback (or in this case, not make changes based on that feedback).

Sorry to say, but you’ve got it wrong. If you’re noisy and obnoxious, you don’t get listened to at all.

Most of the people in that thread were very polite with their messaging. They weren’t rude, they weren’t hurling insults, they just stated for one reason or another why they did not want world quests to reset daily, and while I do not agree with them (because there is no currency grind in this expansion as in previous ones so there’s no risk of ‘falling behind’ as you could have with Artifact Power/Azerite Power/Anima) I can understand why Blizzard chose to listen.

If they were rude, obnoxious and loud, they’d have been ignored, like so many other people are when they threaten to quit if they don’t get their way or when they throw insults at the developers or the company.

A different number? Not sure what you mean.

I dislike daily routines, I prefer weekly ones.

This is the first expansion I am actually completing all WQs precisely because they are few and weekly.

The time investment is much better for me.

Can you imagine how badly hard capping rep would go over with this community?

I really don’t get the outrage tbh. This is the most active and transparent they’ve been after a launch that I can recall in a long time. I was genuinely just happily surprised anything was said about it at all.

There is more solo casual content in DF than there has been for a very long time.

World quests aren’t the only thing to do you know… you can grind rep to your hearts content if you want to.

I like the twice a week system. We’ve already done world quest spam for how many expansions now?

Transparency is nice, but backing out on something isn’t. I am sitting here looking at a empty world map and that isn’t a fun experience at all. I am okay with bi weekly content I guess though, so long as they let me sub on a per day basis instead. I don’t want to pay for the days I won’t be playing due to the lack of content.

World quests aren’t the only solo content that you should be doing. What are you, a hamster pushing a button?

Where? I did find a few places to rep grind but that was more world based group content. The key farm and then there was a gnoll location, and the Outdoor torghast. All fun things provided you have a group. Not a great solo experience though.

That doesn’t make much sense. May as well say you’ll only play WoW if your sub time only goes down by the hours you actually play. Idealistic, and extremely one sided in the consumer’s favor.

Being worried about their income is not my concern. Being worried about my player experience and getting my moneys worth is. And I can tell you playing a few hours a day once every 3 days isn’t measuring up to the base game price tag + 15 dollars a month. We simply need more, or the ability to pay for the content we actually have. A daily sub basis sounds fair to me.

Farm disturbed dirt piles and scout packs. Work on your professions, complete all your side quests.

I’m stuck at home rn due to quarantines and am playing an obscene amount, and I still cannot run out of things to do.

This expansion is a godsend for solo and for casual players. AND, the world quests are actually fun.

If they were every day they’d quickly become old and meme’d on.

Exactly, and we have seen this with helfers and antis, where the latter would continuously troll the helf megathread and even harass them outside the forums.

In the end, helfers got what they wanted.

We should all (myself included in fact) learn to give our opinions, ask for what we want politely and learn to agree to disagree.

The forums would be a much much better place.

Ah yeah thats fair, I forgot the packs do offer a trivial amount of rep per pack. But lets be honest playing flight simulator to find packs isn’t as compelling as questing is. I mean maybe for some people I’d grant those who enjoy playing flight simulator their own opinion on the matter.

Yeah, that’s the point. That’s what I enjoyed doing after a long day at work. It’s relaxing and requires very little thought after a long day of thinking.

That’s what I’ve done in this game for over 10 years. Logging in and doing my dailies at the start of every expansion and patch has been routine for over 10 years. Blizz suddenly taking that away is unwarranted and it’s frankly disturbing that they can remove an entire way to play the game in one fell swoop

you don’t need rep for anything - raiders and mythic plus players get better gear in their content

Those packs also drop your professions reagents and are a good way to farm gold. It’s also a good chance to look for world pvp and mining.

Correct, but you’re trying to make a business decision nonetheless. An ultimatum, to be more precise.

Not a single person I play WoW with from any of the generalized groups I could label them as plays their monthly sub 100% of the days they’ve subbed for. This may be a bit of cold water, but if you’re not playing enough to justify the subscription, it’s just as likely that the problem is you’re paying for a game you don’t want to play.

The fact that Blizzard has even said anything at all, much less saying that they’re looking at better solutions to a problem, is promising to me. Not disheartening.

What about all the rep locked crafting recipes?

world quests and dailies are basic content - should we only let people do 2 dungeons a week as well?
