Just circling back on this - I’ve tried this. It does not work. My own characters cannot find my group.

are they the same faction? cross faction isnt available in Custom Groups or older raids

There is no effort involved in farming anything from any dungeon or raid prior to Legion, and even considering Legion as being something that needs effort is dubious at best, and will very soon also be a no effort thing.
It’s not effort they require. Just patience. Have you got the patience to sprint through a raid and sit through any rp tgere might be at least once a week? Yes? Then congratulations the mount is basically yours! Not a matter of if, but when!
Honestly no idea why people resist making old pointless content less obnoxious. This is coming from a guy who has farmed many raid mounts, including Invincible, Mimiron, and yes, the SoO mount, multiple times over, two manning it with a friend, starting from back when they were actually difficult to two man. And I don’t give a damn if they add shortcuts straight to the mount bosses, or even boost the mount drop rates.
Stop acting like a gatekeeper and pretending you’re cool because you have something literally anyone can get.

Patience OR a second monitor, so you can be almost AFK while doing that legacy content…great gameplay.
