Sick and tired of Blizzard website sending me to the wrong zone!

So here is my problem, trying to create a ticket and it keeps taking me to the EU support page. I am from the USA, retired military living in Greece. My account and my characters is on the East coast, have been there since December 2004.

Now when I try to get support on my account it keeps resetting the connection to https://eu.battle.net/support/en/ instead of the correct link which should be https://battle.net/support. It does this regardless which browser I am using.

When I manually put in the web address it keeps changing it to EU, same when I use the links ingame or on the website, it keeps taking me to the EU link. If I do a Google search and it shows the US support website when I click on the link again, it takes me to the EU site.

I cannot get access to customer support thru the EU link because they can’t access mey North American account. How do I get to the link I need and prevent it from changing to EU?

It is really pissing me off as one of my characters is unplayable and won’t stay logged in and I can’t get any help if I can’t reach North American support!!!

Please stop redirecting my support links and make sure my account support link takes me to the region the account is in and not the region I am currently stationed in while serving!

Can you access the web self help service to move a character?

Also, instead of using https://battle.net/support
Try using https://us.battle.net/support

This may have been true some years ago, but it no longer the case. NA Game Masters help take EU tickets when EU Game Masters are gone for the night, and EU Game Masters help take NA tickets when the NA Game Masters are gone for the night.

Note: This doesn’t apply to some of the self service features of the support website like item undeletion or locating a stuck character.

Battle.net/support is what we call a “region agnostic” link. Going to a URL without a regional identifier will prompt the website to take you to the website based on your IP location. So if you are in Greece and go to Battle.net/Support then you will be redirected to the eu.battle.net/support/ website.

You can manually change the EU in the address to US and it should allow you to manually navigate to the US site. Keep in mind, though, that our support articles all use region agnostic links. As an example, in the article Nok provided: https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/10581

It’s a us.battle.net address, but Step 3 links to https://battle.net/support/help/wf/wow/197/834

See how the region identifier is removed? That may be why you keep ending up back on the EU site. You may be clicking on region agnostic links.

If you manually change it to the US site:
https://us.battle.net/support/en/help/product/wow/197/834/solution

Then you should be able to see your US characters.

(After re-reading this post, I just wanted to clarify - I go into so much detail here in case others find this topic in a search. My response is to you, but I also want others that find it to be able to understand why it happens and how to change it  )

no, it takes me to the EU website which they dont have access to my NA characters. I had this same issue before with a stuck character and it is getting old.

I did find a link in a previous ticket that did work, just makes no sense for the local region to keep redirecting me to EU instead of the NA server.

It actually does, as Kalviery laid out for you. You are in an EU country, so unless you are specifically adding in the “US” part to the address, it’s going to default to where you are located.

thankyou for the response, seems the only way for me to connect to US support servers is to use a link I received in a previous ticket I had for another issue.

Any time I try to manually input the US links you gave it takes me to the EU site like you said. However I can click on the link in your post and it will take me to the US site, once there if I click on the support button at the top right it takes me to the EU site, however I can still make a ticket from the options on the page as long as I dont click on those links.

There needs to be a better fix for this, not sure why it would act like this as it is not making any sense. Why would someone clicking on the US based support button want to be taken to the EU support site just because they are living or traveling in the EU?

Like you said, you can’t get support on the EU page for NA actions for recovering deleted items and other self service actions which is part of the previous problem I had.

On the bottom of the page, you can usually change language and region also. I’m not sure if it’s different between the forums, account page and support, especially if your local cookie doesn’t seem to hold a preference.

Unfortunately there’s not much that can be done about dns server redirects.

A lot of the time, folks end up on the US site because that might be what they found in a google search. So the objective is to ensure that people get to the correct site based on their location, regardless of how they landed where they landed. Understandably, you’re in a more unique situation living abroad while having a US account - so while this serves most people beneficially it’s less of a service to you specificlaly :frowning:

A direct link to the Stuck Character tool for US can be found here: https://us.battle.net/support/help/wf/wow/197/834

A direct link to the Item Restoration tool for US can be found here:
https://us.battle.net/support/en/restoration

Mail Return/Undelete for US can be found here:
https://us.battle.net/support/en/help/product/wow/197/1674/solution

Hope those help!

You could also click in the address bar of your browser and change the ‘eu’ to ‘us’. Or, type the whole URL. Or, even easier, bookmark the US site and use that to get to support if you need it.

When you get the the EU site, just scroll to the bottom of the webpage and select the US region. Its annoying but if you do that youl get into the US support section easier ive found

Thankyou for the direct links…I guess my incredulity is why these direct links are not used on the US accounts when I click on them? I am an American…I play on US servers, any links sent to me should be direct links like these that work instead of the generic support link on my support page that takes me to the regional page.

This has no bearing on the region agnostic links like Kalviery posted above. Whether you play on NA servers or EU doesn’t change where you’re accessing the game from. Since you’re in Greece, the website will see that and send you to the EU version of the site automatically. The links themsevles can be modified to have us instead of eu, which should resolve the issue.

both redirect to EU

and no, when you change the link to the US it doesn’t fix the problem…because when you click on the option at the US links…again, if you were not listening the first time which is very apparent…it takes you to the EU link…so again…you have to take multiple links so going to just the US link is not working as you seem to think it should

again…it doesn’t work that way…clicking on the US link at the bottom does nothing about when you click on the option to retrieve an item or character link…it basically AGAIN takes you back to the EU link…why can’t you guys understand that…it takes a VERY specific link which I had to get from Blizzard to be able to get this to work…using what is posted on the forums and on the customer service website and changing the link to US or clicking at the bottom of the page DOES NOT WORK!!!

Hey Shaddam,

Although this is your own thread, necromancy is frowned on, especially if you’re going to start insulting and shouting at your fellow posters. If you still have an issue, please create a new thread.

With all that said, what happens if you use the language drop-down towards the bottom of each page?

Chances are this is isp related, my only other thought for now is to try a vpn service.

I’m in Australia and my link defaults to the EU. Ive never had an issue where simply clicking the correct regional link on the website didnt redirect me to the correct US version of the site.
