Is this going to be fixed? There’s a lot of people who just can’t get the gem because the encounter bugs and doesn’t award credit.

I’ve tried every creative kill, in raids, not in raids… this is awful.

People have said if you don’t pull until everyone is in the cave it doesn’t bug (because he doesn’t charge towards the door) but good luck getting random strangers to listen
I have yet to see any strategy work
I’m just annoyed because this is the last gem I need and it’s BiS for my spec
Just tried this again and yep… still bugs out and kicks you from the cave and you don’t get credit even though the boss dies…
Really sad that something like this is bugged and has been bugged since they opened the island up…
Honestly… this happens so often with Blizzard products that there must be 0 consequences at Blizzard for putting out broken or garbage content. Start firing people.
Not only do we get this garbage borrowed power ring that you have to get as BiS AGAIN (The first one was poorly received and someone made the decision to put out another one? Fired). The event where you get the best of the gems is bugged.
So… most of the people who care enough about BiS are tired of farming this garbage already in hopes something goes right and it drops, just make the gems buyable from that turtle man for everybody, and chalk this up as a fat L on the ol’ scoreboard.

So just posting an update on how I got the gem
I stood outside the cave while a group pulled the boss. I sent my pet in to attack him but I stayed outside the cave. When he died I got the gem

Bugged for all the groups I’ve seen, noone I’ve seen on the shard I’m on has gotten the gem. The event disappears when the boss is pulled.
Finally got the gem this morning. The event started while I was some distance away and I got there when the boss was down to about 30%. Amazingly the event stayed active and I got the gem.
I have no idea what might have been a factor; only glad to have got it done after trying for three days.
Still messed up. Just did it 3 times, nada.
I just got it, totally normal, as if nothing had been wrong. I wonder if they just fixed it. Guy even charged towards the door, all the stuff that was supposedly bugging it out.
EDIT: turns out I got lucky somehow, because the next event bugged out.

I just got the credit and I tried multiple times. I think it has to do with the cave objectives overlapping when announced on the island. So if Shuddering Hollow is the only one active, it stays on the whole time. If another objective opens up while it’s active, it looks like it’s getting deactivated. Similar to if you’re flying closer to a daily quest area, it activates, you fly too far away, it deactivates.
They might’ve hotfixed it…it’s not bugging out anymore
Just got my fathom citrine after trying all afternoon. The bonus quest had disappeared from the map with 20k health left on the boss too, so it was surprising.

Yes it is still bugged.
Tried it several times on my Monk, bugged every single time, so yeah, just not going to take part in this crap content until they fix it, I’m not going to be a paying beta tester for Blizz.

It’s been buggin out consistently here for a bit now this evening. People were trying the hunter pet method to no avail as well as normally. This kinda sucks a little, but tbh, bugs like this don’t surprise me anymore.
Still bugged with no fix in sight or even talked about. Blizzard devs probably left early for the holidays and are just praying for the rats that infest the server rooms to fix this problem.

it’s still bugged. already 5 attempts this morning and kicks us out or just no drop. Congratz on being lucky though.
Bump. This is still bugged - It goes from contribute option, up to maybe 67%, then immediately to Event over, then cycles back to contribute, then event over, all in a matter of a couple minutes. Stuck in a loop and completely broken still.
