Should we bother making another Skyfury discord?

For those of you aware of the current drama revolving the leader of the “official” Skyfury discord, should we bother making another Skyfury discord server? Or just let him run that server into the ground and ignore it?

I’ve spoken out against this person on multiple platforms now, and each one but a few have removed my posts or banned me from the groups. Letting people know the important aspects involving our future fresh server is apparently called witch hunting…so ya.

Let me know your thoughts

There are already several unoffical Skyfury discords claiming to be “official”. You do you, man. If you make one I’ll at least drop by and check it out. The chiller the better.

I feel like speaking out against a person is causing more drama, even if that isn’t your intention. The best course of action, imo, is to either join the Skyfury discord that that person set up and deal with it, or create another one and let the people decide.

Though, I’d be wary of joining someone’s discord who is proliferating drama by calling someone out across multiple platforms. Food for thought.

What’s the drama going on with skfury disord?

Unless made by Blizzard there should be no server wide discord at all. The thought of letting some random person hold such authority is crazy. I don’t even trust Blizzard, but at least they are more indifferent than having any particular opinion about individual people.

If you are unaware of the means, methods, and current events involving the scenario, I could understand your opinion. But these issues can potentially take a lot of fun, time, gold, etc. away from a lot of people. And the fact that he is in control of the largest Skyfury discord server and the bigger subreddit makes the issue much larger than if he was just a guild leader in game.

I predict this discussion is gonna go too far and get removed lol

Just leave the Discord and Reddit. Problem solved.

I am unaware.

I mean, if it’s problematic, people will figure it out won’t they? Badmouthing someone across the internet isn’t a good look, imo, regardless. But I mean, that’s just my opinion. It might be a “don’t shoot the messenger” type situation, but like you pointed out, I’m completely unaware of the situation.

Whats the drama?

spil the tea

I’ll just wait for the battle of the discords to end and then join the winner.

Axxi, is right. As such, I won’t bad mouth the man anymore. Was just wondering everyone’s opinion on how important a good community discord is to you? Or if you even feel you need one…?

Discord is more like a detriment to the games authenticity.

That’s a good question. I’ve joined server discords on all the servers I’ve played on, but haven’t found them to be very umm… worth being a part of, so far. I tend to check them out and then remove the servers, because there’s no reason to be there.

Perhaps I’m missing something though?

Oh, on Faerlina, though there have been a few “server discords,” I haven’t really stuck around on them. However, there has been a World Boss Coalition discord since back in the early days of WoW Classic, and that has been really good (for World Bosses, of course).

Likewise, there have been either guild-specific, or other more content specific discord servers for forming groups, like GDKP or SR raids that I’ve also found useful and helpful. The server specific discords, as best as I can tell, are mostly an extension of trade chat.

A bunch of 30 somethings acting like they are in high school?

I have never stayed in an (un)official server discord for long. They seem to have little function, and just be a place to spread hate and toxicity, a cesspool of arguing about in-game events and anything else. That being said, I am trying a few this time around and hope to have a different experience.

Enlighten us on the drama.

If you just search for the guild Blind and it’s leader for the NA server you will find plenty.

Read a little. Either way. Red will be dead. Esp Mega guilds.
