Should Tinker Fans Really Want A Tinker Class?

no, I’ve said this before, I’d much rather necromancers for every race as a hero class or something. you can easily do necromancers without having to destroy demon hunters and warlocks or death knights as a class. We need a ranged hero class that’s cloth. It’s all been leather/plate so far.

then again if they added necromancers WITH tinkers I wouldn’t mind but the chances of that are extremely slim

Well they just won’t be as big as the suit worn by Mekkatorque. If only Gnomes, Goblins, Mechagnomes, and Gilgoblins

Gnomes - check
Goblins - check
Mechagnomes - may or may not get them (odds say yes, but lets wait on it)
Other Races-

Forsaken have Tinkers in Game, even a few Raid bosses
Light Forge Dreanei - Have a thing for their mechsuit, tinker
Humans - Harvesters are all theirs.
Highborn Elves (Blood, Nightborn, & Void) - have magic based tinker constructs, one could argue in their favor.
Orcs (new and old) have the Blackrock siege weapon designs form WoD.

Literally the only three races not to have Tinkers in some capacity are Night Elves, and both Tauren.

What I want is irrelevant here. I am just saying that an actual Tinker Class will actually limit Tinker fantasy.

tinkers/engineers have been done in other MMOs and they were really fun. the kind of wacky fun blizzard used to do in spades. the customisation aspect to them was also really awesome. theres hundreds of different mech suits you can use in Aion online. Hell Aion now has a painter class, on top of there gunslinger, songweaver etcs. a couple of the other MMOs out there right now are doing some pretty amazing stuff with there classes. BDO, GW2, Tera, Aion etcs all have really deep customisation and fun things going on with there classes. they have blizzard beat hand over fist.

theres basically 0 options for what you want to do in wow with your specs. i think ive changed 1 talent in the last 6 months…

So the question is: Do you really want to throw all that freedom of fantasy roleplay away to be railroaded into a couple of specs / roles just so you can hit people with a mech suit?

I would rather have playable Murlocs.

What a terrible argument. The Tinker fantasy is actually doing what a class does. You can’t do that with engineering and mounts.

Heck, Engineering doesn’t even contain the Tinker abilities from the Island Expedition teams. That proves that the Tinker is something different than your standard profession engineer.
