Should the WoW forums have your highest progression achieved in the season under your portrait?

See a lot of people making very grand statements talking about their experience only for very… lackluster profiles on their armory.

Do you think having your highest raider io. pvp rating, and raid boss cleared on your account under your character profile would improve the forums?

It would let people know instantly if people are speaking from a place of experience.

armory isnt very reliable like me for instance you cant see any of my current progression because i havnt logged onto this char in a long time. that said the only time i look up peoples progression is if what they are saying sounds objectively wrong. aka in my most recent conversation a guy was talking about how its possible to kill mythic bosses without add ons while having never set foot in mythic raid.

I mean. This is General Discussion. There is no rule here you must be however qualified to talk about whatever.

If you’re more concerned with whether someone is talking from a place of experience and you’re not actually concerned with what people are actually saying, you’re really just looking to dismiss or disregard what people are saying. And I don’t think you need a feature to be implemented to do that, since you’re obviously already doing it.

If you want to talk amongst peers you personally deem qualified to talk, I’m sure you know where to find those. Right? …. Right?

Considering theres this thing called credibility it does matter.

The recent hunter threads are proof of this

But does credibility really matter to you if you’re going to talk down to, belittle, insult, and disregard people anyway? Is it going to prompt you to actually have discussion with people instead of shutting them down. And is that going to stop people from talking?

That’s a question directed towards you specifically. It’s also a rhetorical question. You’re not going to answer it and you don’t need to because we already know what you’re going to say.

Considering they’ve made it harder to track people and that we can’t have bnet being used on the forum my guess would be that this would be very unlikely to happen. Adding badges also would mostly promote elitism. But I’m all for having special forums for people that reach a certain point in content.

I generally dont talk down to people unless they are rude first or try to come from a position of authority.

I have conversations with people I dont agree with that have credibility all the time. People get the energy they put out.

I didnt say people cant talk, however when people who dont even play hunters comment on how the MM changes are terrible is an issue

when people who dont mythic raid try to comment on mythic raiding its an issue

credbility matters.

But I did answer it.

Lot if folks use alts.

Hm, may cut down on the alt hopping seeing that account wide achievement around here.

Considering how schizophrenic and dox happy the RP servers are, I am very apprecitive for all API disabling measures.

an argument is supposed to stand on their own without IO or achievement or whatever.

Saying this as someone in the hall of fame and 3.2k io…

Those types tend to stream. Here people like to leave out the possibility of being harassed in game.

If they’re going to improve the forums, I want their first improvement to be a toggle that lets me preemptively ignore people with privated profiles.

Strong correlation between private profile and being a forum troll in my opinion. And it makes ignoring them annoying on mobile.

Yes but only if it also has your highest level of education, credit score, and current amount of debt displayed alongside it.

General geographic location as well. I don’t want to make the mistake of taking anyone from California seriously.
