yes I make all my gold out of selling transmog from that era right now, remove that content and you remove all the good transmog
Retail should not delete ANY content.
Not that I agree with OP that content should be removed but, TMOG is account wide. Any new characters will have access to anything an older character has.
I am curious. What are you still hunting for in classic content that you havenʻt gotten yet?
So using the “Fear Of Missing Out” tactic to make people have a mad panic to do content, rush themselves, then burn out on WoW, and if the RNG doesn’t drop their item, they’re basically screwed. FOMO is a very manipulative thing and makes things just worse.
If anything, they should do the opposite and put all the Vanilla versions of 1-60 content they remade for Classic back into Retail via Chromie.
Based on some of the responses, maybe I should have saved it for Sunday. ![]()
This sounds like state governments running on systems from the 1980s. Do nothing except pile on more stuff till it fails. Like state unemployment offices during the pandemic.
based on your OP, you should have saved it for Sunday.
They deleted the material in Classic back when they released Cataclysm. Sure the zones are named the same but the content in most of them is different.
Does anyone on the retail servers actually go to Outlands anymore?

Cataclysm deleting access to the swift Zulian tiger mount and several vanilla quest reward mogs was bad enough. No more please.
Agreed! That way it is possible to obtain the mount and all those removed items from quests and rares.
I’m surprised at you even thinking of this … It’s more like something the retail developers would think of as a way to cut down on their workload. By eliminating from retail everything covered by , referred to in, and reminiscent of “classic” and “classic TBC,” that’s a few hundred thousand (if not millions) of lines of code that wouldn’t have to be modified each subsequent xpac. Of course, however, new players to retail would never get the experience of old Eastern Kingdoms, Kalimdor, and Outland unless they also grabbed the “classic” duo as well.
It doesn’t sound like that, it IS like that.
Technically speaking that is already in place. Many of the Classic quests got scrapped when Cata rolled out.
That said, how does Classic affect Retail exactly? Considering all the balances are tied to Classic/BC era?
Should retail delete content covered by the Classic series?
lmao…no…they shouldnt. And if they do they can say bye bye to a ton of subscribers
given some of their other posts, it doesnt surprise me at all.
now hold on there… surely they could improve on retail, i mean, 9.0 has been goin on quite a long time now.
I could see them doing that if the next expansion revamps the world again like in CATA. If that happens then a classic CATA, MOP etc. makes a lot of sense since the current world wouldn’t exist anymore and retail players that miss it would want to go back to it.
Nothing improves if they just remove parts of the world for the sake of removing parts of the world. They can’t just take the time spent on something and recycle it into new assets with zero effort whatsoever.
For me that was one of classics biggest draws. To be able to go back and see the world and quests as they were before Deathwing changed everything.
I wouldn’t put it past Blizzard to do something like that again and use that as justification to continue the classic series past WOTLK.
They should just put everyone in a waiting room at this point like in Diablo and queue for dungeons/raids from there. What’s the worst that could happen?
…hic!
Retail is post cata, so what they need to do is add chrome time if someone doesn’t want to see cata, like In silthis. I love the Cata zones myself. Classic is a snapshot, modern is alive.
