I keep seeing people say “exploit” like the people who ran incursions were somehow hacking or cheating lol… blizzard encouraged us to try incursions as a way of leveling in all of the pre release hype videos, they admittedly overturned the gold reward, but in no way was anybody involved exploiting in any way it’s bizarre to think so. And at best, the earliest and sweatiest people made a maximum of 500-800g before it was nerfed, certainly not thousands as people are claiming.
Thats cool, im still superior at the game we all play.
Better than all 3 of you combined lmfao.
Playing the game the way blizzard designed it isn’t “exploiting.”
Only people to blame are blizzard for not testing any of this and for not reacting faster.
And there is like a grey area with this right, like i said before.
You go into a raid and say you put a goblin land mine down and it 1 shots the boss, obviously thats not an intended interaction and clearly an exploit if you do it.
The same sense cant be used here, like we were supposed to know they didnt want the gold to be 5g per quest, lmfao.
Quest gave 1g and some change and the Discovery Delight was +300% gold…5g isnt some unheard of amount, i could see if it was giving 10g a quest or something.
been pointed out though, some of the crud going through to live doesn’t even need a theorist or anything like that, it should be BASIC math and common sense to know what they should and should not let out, at this point they just seem to be collecting a pay cheque for minimum effort.
Kinda like the forums spell check trying to say ‘cheque’ was wrong and should be ‘quench’, minimum effort.
Better Example:
Using safe spots in neutral towns to attack and kill enemy players without aggroing the guards.
Using Saronite Bombs to rebuild the platform during HLK during the phases it is supposed to be destroyed.
Getting the Martin Fury shirt in the mail by accident and using it to full clear a raid.
Using pet mechanics to preserve temporary buffs or debuffs for use outside their intended zones.
List of things that are not exploits:
Quest or gold rewards being very high by default.
Leveling incredibly quickly or clearing certain enemies quickly for an advantage.
Playing the AH.
Doing specific farms or grinds optimally, such as specific honor farming methods through normal gameplay.
I think almost all of the exploit examples people actually got actioned on especially the heroic LK 1.
They stripped everything from them
That would be correct. And every situation was based on intent.
I would say boo to you irl. Then I’d let you swing first.
Because as an adult with morals I know I can take a hit…then after I have a moral obligation to put you where you need to be.
You can’t even handle conversations on a forum lmao
No you couldn’t
Wait are we to the point where we’re asking for Fresh SoD?! we’ve made it baby!
Actually the polite way I answered instead trying to claim I’m some big bad right off.
Is being the adult in the conversation.
lmao no you didn’t.
No you weren’t.
Delusion at it’s finest tbh
exploit
verb [ T ]
US /ɪkˈsplɔɪt/ UK /ɪkˈsplɔɪt/
to use something in a way that helps you:
exploit your resources
Example: We need to make sure that we exploit our resources as fully as possible.
You made use of an unintended reward in a way that helped you. English isnt hard yo.
Enjoy arguing semantics on your dead servers though
We both know that’s cap.
Like all of it.
You started our conversation throwing insults.
Sorry but the incursions weren’t an exploit
My server is packed.
Yeah, the huge swing of rewards from Incursions should have been considered against original quests - along with a lot of other game balances not even touching class design
Maybe Im just not clicking, but I havent really found SOD very enjoyable. I had so much more fun on the last fresh classic drop personally
Nah, youre a green parsing exploiter on a soon to be dead server.
Season of Gatekeeping IS the public test realm.
I think the point was a rollback to re-start Phase 3 with the NIs adjusted properly. Things like the reduced xp, reduce gold and making the “no-kill loop” quests worth less of both than the kill and boss quests to incentivize actually interacting with the content, rather than “playing by not playing.”
