Should Daelin Proudmoore Be Rewritten in WC3 Remaster?

Maybe I’m misreading “rewritten” as “retcon”.

No, I don’t mean retcon. Or at least, not necessarily, although it could go that far. Mostly, I mean change the spin.

The part about him believing Jaina was in danger isn’t a retcon though.

Good point. It’s easy to miss, though–they could play it up a lot more if they want him to look more sympathetic.

Also, is the remake even going to have Frozen Throne content?

It’ll probably be its own expansion. I imagine Blizzard will probably give us the Arthas vs Illidan cinematic that was oft said to be a regret they wish they had done properly if TFT does get Reforged.

The most they’ll likely, or can do really, is show that he has a good reason to hate the Horde, believe Jaina is in actual danger, probably name drop Daelin once or twice ect.

I doubt we’ll get a scene of him saving a group of orc babies to show how much a great guy he is, but we could be given context as to A) Why he hates the Horde so much and B) why the Kul Tiras still see him as a hero.

If they rewrite his entire character, that would be odd considering the goal was to bring WC3 more in line with WoW, and WoW still went ahead and showed that he was a jerk who got himself killed.

Yeah. Pretty much what I said when they might show “the Orcs deserved it” and pretty typical for Blizzard. When the Alliance does stuff like that, it is OK because the Orcs deserved it. If you ask whether Orc babies deserved it, then it was “understandable” because he was mad, or it was necessary because the Horde is so evil, etc. etc.

I will admit, I will find it very amusing if they go in and just have a 5 minute unskippable cutscene of orcs just slaughtering people moments before Daelin arrives.

But as I said, at most they will likely namedrop Derek, the Wars, how Kul Tiras suffered, and maybe even something about protecting Jaina, while still having him being a jerk to get himself killed for trying to restart a old war.
