No. No replacing. There were many areas of Azeroth that had what seemed like content but weren’t developed into anything but scenery. If those areas were developed, instead of an expansion, that would be welcome. Keeping max level at 60, with upgrades in items and such, that would give players something new to Classic but still Classic.

and what i am reading is exactly the opposite
clearly i said i don’t want classic be replaced by any expansion and some ppl for some reason feel personally attacked
i thought this forum was completely different to GD (monkeys everywhere) but i was wrong
What I would like to eventually see happen, maybe in a couple of years, is an option to be able to copy your Classic characters to a BC-enabled realm. Likewise, a few years after that, be able to copy your characters to a Wrath-enabled realm.
I don’t think we need to have legacy realms extend further than Wrath. Cata is often considered the turning point where modern WoW began (for better or worse).
Note I said character copy, not migrate or move. I believe that there’s no reason we shouldn’t be able to keep Classic-locked characters around while still being able to send a copy to BC/Wrath or just re-roll there.
Of course, all of this hinges on how successful Classic is going to be. I would imagine success is going to be measured based on the subscription count. If the WoW sub count sees large gains or at least maintains over the years to come, then that may be considered successful enough to justify the non-trivial effort of migrating BC and Wrath to modern infrastructure as they’re doing with Classic.
thanks this is the type of feedback i was looking for

It’s unfortunate, but what is to you just a singular question, is to us one of many threads asking the same general question in a variety of ways and ignoring most of the answers given. So there are more than a few people who don’t even want to give elaborate answers, who are tired of being polite when the same question is asked again.

Yeah, even for all I love that we’re getting WOW Classic, and have people on this forum I very much like, I would never claim it is better than GD. Each have some good folk, some ordinary folk, and some very dedicated trolls. Depending on who you ask, this one is worse.
(The kinds of forums that are different tend to be Customer Support, which has active reps who moderate, and Guides / New Player. Even the Lore/Story forum can get really heated at times.)
I would be ok with this after most people have experienced the content but I think it should be one of those things where you can copy over your character to the TBC server. I personally loved TBC. It’s my favorite after Vanilla.
Let us transfer by choice, never by force.
If classic is successful 2-3 years down the road I’d like to see it move on to TBC and eventually Wrath. That’s a big if though, I don’t think it will have the longevity to warrant future expansions.
I’d much rather have them develop the unfinished places from classic like hyjal, emerald dream, gilneas and other stuff like kara, hellfire and azshara bg.
No, it should not be replaced.
Maybe if classic is successful, Blizzard may add WoW Crusade servers with a free classic->crusade transfer service. Hopefully they don’t just replace the classic servers with crusade servers, and they will instead just add tbc servers as another alternate version to play.
Maybe after classic has been running for a while Blizzard may add a “seasonal progression” server which starts from classic and goes all the way to wrath. Then it resets after a while with the option to transfer characters to wrath servers or retail when the “season” ends.
I just wanna play Classic before having to decide anything else…
