I think they should copy FFXIV. I would welcome suspensions for people who are being rude to others for their dps/hps, but I would want to be able to keep my dps meters so I know what works and how I can improve myself. I think it’s a good idea to go after the root of the problem.
No.
From my understanding it’s not just them banning DPS chats but all addons. If you are harassing someone over their numbers then it brings to attention you are using the addon.
If you use it and only talk about it with your friends or something they won’t go after you.
WoW addons are too popular among the community. I personally think they should have banned them from the start as they caused issues with raiding but it’s far too late for that now.
I don’t think so. The thing to remember about Square is their idea of “toxicity” is much more egregious than Blizzard’s. I don’t think someone pointing out a problem on a dps meter is toxic. Square does. Thus, I’m not inclined to agree with that methodology.
Square only enforces the rule if people use it to abuse other players, but they tend to turn a blind eye to meters being used at higher end content as tool for raid groups to analyze their output and figure out what the issue might be.
i don’t think blizz should just adopt everything another company is doing, just to /copy /paste.
I think wow is its own creature. There are some things they can take from a game like FF, but, I like being able to see my performance and how well it stands vs others. Specifically dps. I also do like addons
no it gives good data
No. They’re not even native to the game lol, you have to go through the process of getting addons to get one. I doubt any new players are going to find themselves worrying about how much damage they’re dealing when it’s essentially a .4% difference.
