Should alt-code special characters be allowed in names?

What is your official stance?

Yes, also we should be allowed a “last name” system too. >.>

We wouldn’t need them if we just had something like last names

Even just an account name suffix or something.

I suggested this a couple weeks ago, I got my head bitten off with people crying “Muh server identity.” like they’re a pillar of the server or something…

How do I make my stance official?

Notarized?

Very carefully.

I dont believe in careful.

Well thats not exactly true. I have two sides. Carefully plot out every possible scenario. Or just barge in and wing it. No Plan B.

I dont believe in moderation.

No thank you

I don’t care if people want to clutter up their names with a bunch of symbols or use an eszett as a B, as long as they don’t care if I don’t spell their name right and if I I call them “Ssadssoy” instead of “Badboy.”

I’m similar, but instead of spelling their names it’s just difficult for me to take anything they have to say seriously if they can’t conjure up a somewhat unique name without resorting to essentially cheating.

So, what should people in France and Germany do, not type their names correctly?

Forum mods: “and we took that personally!”

France and Germany don’t exist in WoW, so those special characters are not lore accurate.

Rome doesn’t exist in WoW so using Latin letters is not lore accurate, you’ll have to name yourself with the squiggles they put in in-game books instead of readable text.

I’d be okay with this.

I’m thinking if the names were all squiggles, I could make up my own pronunciations (since I don’t know any of the “lore” languages). Might be fun.

Yes.
