Should a Paladin be wielding a 2h Sword or 2h Mace?

Are you talking about Chronicles? Because if you are, Chronicles came out 10 years AFTER Tides of Darkness, the actual story itself, so Chronicles would be the retcon.

For me depends on the race. Humans, Dwarves and Draenei, maces, other races Swords, save Blood Elves, which a polearm feels like a better fit.

No. I’m talking about Warcraft 2, which came out in December of 1995, and the expansion, Beyond the Dark Portal, which came out in April of 1996.

The game itself? Interesting. Is there a video link to this conversation?

There’s the PDF of the manual. That’s where the information I copied & pasted came from.

Yeah but Paladins aren’t clerics. Paladins are the military arm of the Church of Light.

Awesome. This will be a good and interesting read. Where is the conversation you just talked about on this PDF manual?

The two things I quoted were under the character descriptions. Uther is in the Warcraft 2 section, while you’ll need to scroll down to the expansion section to read Turalyon’s description.

Ashbringer

Both work. You can xmog your 2h to look like any of them (sword, mace, axe, polearm) if you want.

I often think of the Hammer of the Naaru as a good lookin’ 2h pally mace.

Personally, I’ve always leaned towards maces.

hammer, or a iron star thingy. morning star i think? idk

It’s a shame they ever included something as comically silly as Ashbringer in the game.

What a stupid looking weapon.

I think it depends on the race. Dwarves already like hammers without the need to be paladins. Human paladins have a history of hammer use, it’s part of what makes them visualy distinct from other melee human fighters. But blood elf paladins seem to mostly use swords and spears. Tauren paladins typicaly use large blunt weapons but not really hammers.

When I think plate-wearing mace-user, my mind goes to EQ Shadowknights.

I don’t like maces at all, REGARDLESS of the class, so I say sword.
