They are riding the new class spec hype so EVERYONE ELSE has to do “raid assignment issue” so they can just move a bit and keep doing rotations while us ranged/melee and healers have to do all that and mechanics “Nymue, Larodar, rbg range issues, epic bg range issues, arena range pillar issues”. “But theres other modes besides raids” hypocrites. Be silent, blizzard has seen the issues and we will be moving accordingly. Range friends be vocal, ty.

Sounds like you play with terrible evokers/players in general if they think that range is an excuse for not doing mechanics.
Good raiders do mechanics no matter what because they know that a dead boss is better than a parse.

Honestly the only evoker spec that really suffers from range issues is preservation. and that’s because people refuse to group together when necessary.
Even paladins and monks, which are melee classes, have a healing range of 40 meters, it is strange that this does not apply to preservation healing.

Ignore above because ur correct. Even “melee” healers have 40 yard range… but the “mid-RANGED” healer is at 25-30 yards. It’s no longer practical. I feel dispels should ALWAYS be 40 yards, they are too important to be second-guessing urself.

I personally think that the evoker should have a dynamic range, different types of spells should have different ranges.
Maybe damage spells or negative effects, shorter range, this would make us stay close to enemies, but our benefit or healing spells should have a standard range of 40m so we wouldn’t be punished when we need to support or heal allies.

Ironic given that I clearly know the class far better than you do, as does almost everyone else in this thread.
I also have stated on countless occasions I understand the frustrations with pres and personally have zero issue with them getting 40 yds.
I don’t have enough experience with healing to pretend I’d have the right to argue. If only you took that approach to the class as a whole.
