when did the mage become a warlock
idk, aren’t they already? Destro warlocks are failed mages.
And with all that being said, they’ll modify damage based on each class’s strengths and weaknesses, both ranged and melee, but they have reasons for a difference between the two types. Evoker is undeniably a ranged class that is forced to exist in a melee’s world for no notable reason, ergo the complaints.
just cuz they both wear robes does not make them the same
Evoker is mid-ranged. If you don’t like that concept, don’t play it?
How about you not gatekeep classes by suggesting anyone with complaints see themselves out?
People could be asking for a new hero class that is 40 yards instead of taking something away that people enjoy.
Besides, they’ve taken 40 yards of range from survival hunter, because it is now melee.
How would changing the range ruin your experience? Or is this more of the forum instilled terror that adding greater range would mean nerfs to other aspects of the class?
Because I want it to remain as a mid-ranged spec.
The same retort can be given to any melee class enjoyer because it is objectively more power (if no other changes are made.)
So it’s not about the power increase that people get when they have more range.
Needing to be within 25 yards or 30 yards to heal is a form of skill expression.
Add a 4th spec for evoker (that is 40 yards) Center it around bronze magic or something.
It’s more common sense instilled than forum instilled. The entire reason for hover’s current uptime is the reduced range, ergo if the range limit is removed, hover gets ooga boogad.
I respect your enjoyment of the current model, but insist that not many people feel the same way about it.
Forum instilled terror based on theory crafting.
If people didn’t like it, they could, not play it?
Like classes don’t share the same popularity to begin with.
Some people also aren’t playing it because they’re just winged garden snakes or deformed lizards. (They don’t like the aesthetics.)
Because someone not enjoying a single aspect of a class is by no means a reason for them to abandon it. If they like 9 out of 10 things about a class do you really expect them to abandon it, or see about getting that one thing changed, especially if they are not the only one who feels the same way about that one thing?
Because that one thing should not change.
And I would be disappointed in Blizzard if it does. Better if they add two more specs to the class for all the complainers. Now people could have 40 yard range on those.
(And we would have a new class with 2 healing specs that isn’t priest.)
5 dragonflights, 5 specs, lets go.
Unfortunately, it’s far and away easier to cede to popular demand than it is to build entirely new specs to accommodate one heavily requested change.
Blizzard has not caved yet, and I hope they don’t. League of legends champions are different enough, and yet you don’t see people asking for range equalization there. (It would be rather dull.)
It’s neither theorycrafting nor terror.
It’d be better if they found a way to make everyone happy, and there are some signs they are trying with the hero talents, but only time will tell. It’s safe to assume that you will be enjoying the current model until at least the end of Dragonflight.
The new hero talents are not flat out adding range.
As I said, give evoker everything else, but more range.
