I mean to think that shimmer is going to be removed or anything to change from your post is actually sad.
Shimmer will prevail as a dominant part of mage play until there is a massive overhaul which newsflash isn't happening
Now go ahead and take your MW turbo or whatever comp youre playing and learn to work around it. You've played 800 games this season I'm sure you can muster up some slight ability to deal with mages.
I know it's hard being in the big kid league now that you're a whopping 2400 but those players actually know what they are doing. Cheer up snowflake and get better.

I'm pretty sure most good mages would gladly lose shimmer to get deep freeze back. Right now it would be nearly impossible to get a sheep without shimmer or help from your teammates, which is really boring honestly.

You can't be serious... Shimmer is dumb and lowers the skill cap of the game over all. Like the old top frost mages in Wrath would be sitting here laughing at every top mage now because of how brain dead mage is now and in general how brain dead PVP is. PVP right now at it's core is not as fun as it used to be at all.
I love waddling to a mage to stop polymorph only for them to blink away in my face and keep casting it.

I'd prefer these spells. More counterplay to them and less degenerate. Plus if the mage wastes a GCD to deep freeze someone, thats less stun time the Rogue will give with a 10% damage buff...
I say make shimmer an azerite trait u can stack. And buff the talent to 3 charges. But bring up the cd by like 2s so it isnt too strong.
