Shift + mouse over items not showing item comparison with or without any addons

I didnt but i reset those specific ones and put them back as 1/2/3 respectfully. seems i am still having the issue. i tried putting gems in and also linking into general chat. im wondering if maybe just some freak accident happened when doing keybindings on this specific character because the level 1 i made and did the same to everything works. hoping i dont have to delete this toon and remake because then i lose the boost.

It is unlikely it is an issue with that specific character. As I said, I reset your default keybindings and the issue cleared up immediately.

Do you run any addons? My only thought is perhaps something you are using is overriding your selections and rebinding something.

Try resetting your User Interface to default, then reset your keybindings without adding any addons back.

ive dont the ui reset to default described in that link and am running no addons. It is still giving an issue sadly.

Mind jumping off the character real quick, Luxahna? I can check it again.

I was scrolling through old forum posts, could it be that even after resets and renaming the like it could not be going into effect because i have it set as character specific keybindings? seems one of the old posts from June 2021 had that as a fix?

gave this one a shot and that didnt help unfortunatly.

Possible. Though resetting the default, for me, fixes immediately. If I log out of the character and back in, the settings return to how they were and it doesn’t work again.

I’m not sure what would be causing that.

the modifier works for spells i had keybinded but just not the shift/ctrl+L/R click. is there a specific section to maybe rebind this to a different key? I can try doing that and just putting it on a different keybind than before that way i can atleast socket things. would bypass the issue and allow me to play properly though it would take a bit of time to relearn that keybind i wouldnt mind.

I’m not sure if this will work, as bindings are stored differently now, but it might be worth a shot. Log out of the game completely, go into the following: World of Warcraft > _classic _ > WTF > Account > (Account Name) and locate the file that says bindings-cache.wtf.

Rename that to bindings-cache.old.

Then try booting the game back up. If it doesn’t work you can just delete the new bindings-cache.wtf file and rename the .old fle to the original.

i made another alt. logged into it. logged out then back into the warrior. reset all bindings to default. then fully exited the game. logged back in and things seem to be working properly now. If i have any issues that randomly pop up now that it seems to be fixed ill make a reply to this thread so as to keep the issues relevant to the topic. I truly appreciate you trying so hard to help me out. I am super confused as to what was causing the issue and also how just making a lvl 1 alt has made everything work properly.

You might want to submit a bug report from that character as well. That way QA has that sample.

I will for sure send in a bug report. should i link this thread in the report so that they can see what the process leading up to the solution was?

It wouldn’t hurt. QA likes detail and knowing what you may have tried.
