I think in a scenario with 1 tank on either team, and 2 dps, there is always a way; no spec just inherently loses because “not meant to matchup with a tank”.
Surely, disadvantages exists, but that’s in every form of arena no matter what. You already said this.

I agree that healer matches naturally have a higher skill cap, but i don’t think solo shuffle will ever reach those levels. I think the more players learn to fight tanks the less death balls will occur and the matches will feel more inline with triple dps / double dps 2s ish.

why do you think that? legit half of the european awc players came from playing solo q on a private server

This is pretty heavily false though. The amount of specs that legitimately work well with tanks is very limited

You expect far too much from children. It’s much easier to :poop: the bed when they don’t get what they want than to get better, or try and (stupidly) achievement shame someone they don’t know when they utterly lack an argument.

It’s actually very creepy that they deep dive your account looking at stuff to insult you over than provide any kind of valid reasoning, which they don’t have of course. It’s harassment and should be reported for being toxic stalking. All over a bracket they don’t even play. Incredibly weird.

Yes, that’s why I was wondering if they’d consider a different format for the role. :dracthyr_comfy_sip: Including a single tank in a “normal” lineup seems a little easier to adjust around.

This disadvantage exists in a rather extreme sense in this scenario

General elemental shaman design for example is horrid if you have a tank on your team and all melee for every other role

You will have truly unwinnable lobbies more often than not but most importantly the experience will be unpleasant; your kit is just not designed for this type of environment so there’s nothing you’re really getting out of it. Ele is designed to protect your healer with a good amount of anticaster tools until eventually opening up win cons

But you really just do nothing useful you just exist in this scenario by default. There is a very real possibility of getting 0 people that are casters and thus your kit is quite useless. More importantly the specs that are good in these cases are basically ones that are good at duels which is already fairly limiting

As I said my concern is not necessarily a win or a loss alone it is in fact the peak level of play is too shallow and not very interesting.

I found the solo shuffle tournament involving a mix of high ladder players and tournament players to be really exciting and having a lot of room for improvement in all directions. In matchups where two healers are the same spec (thus both healers are playing the same exact matchups) there were even scenarios where one actually dominated another which is pretty sick to see. This happened both in WGs consistently and even in some live series’s. It is actually very hard to play a healer in this format and supporting them is very difficult too because of the forced dampening.

When two tanks are involved the matches are forced to play one specific way with things you are already concerned about being in mind. Your healers PvE healing is not what wins you games to begin with and you cannot rely on that at all. With tanks involved their playstyles are again just built on 0 counterplay mechanics. A lot of them are built around just shoving immunities and making someone unpeelable - so the best way to play with tanks is pop all offensives and shove every defensive button at the same time too and hope for the best, the games with optimal players will never last long enough for anyone to actually make an interesting play

he’s about to be the only person left playing it when solo shuffle destroys 2s participation, only try hards play 3s, and solo shuffle kills itself with tanks and leavers

It’d be pretty tragic if the mode dies in an attempt to cater to a cringe minority that’d otherwise be annoying people in random battlegrounds because they don’t have anybody that’ll willingly queue with them. :dracthyr_a1:

I wonder if they’ll be able to figure a way of distributing CR/MMR gains and losses if a match is abandoned, though. Even if it’s only like 10% of games having all that progress wiped feels bad.

I’m not confident in that either. The only two ways comps kill before dampening is through either consistent application of healing debuff or brief moments of extremely heavy damage.

Prot/Fury/X was a good one for a while because heavy MS is amplified as dampening starts up, and some other extreme burst comps worked as well–although that was almost exclusively due to Summer (Sepsis, Convoke, Aimed shot)

But any comp without MS or without the extreme damage and control necessary to set up and kill alone will practically be handed an automatic loss playing with a tank and, sadly, I feel like most specs dont have the necessary damage and control combo to actually work with a tank rather than a second DPS and the ones that can work with a tank are pretty exclusively melee.

I mean you’d have to roll the dice 5x wrong to get this. Not to mention in a full melee lobby you’re getting slapped on regardless of having a healer and the second the healer trinkets you’re dead in the water next dr. Also, i think even then you’d still be fine, obviously you’re the kill target, you are inevitably doomed, just like everyone in that lobby; but you also have the power to completely obliterate them, because you’re playing a spec that gave up defensives for utility and insane burst that they can’t heal either.

Not necessarily - if you are good enough and both teams have a healer you actually can survive and still be disruptive even vs double melee as melee caster healer - by being disruptive towards the enemy healer too with your toolkit.

The problem is these tank games are also effectively triple dps with one of the dps just having mechanics to either be unpeelable themselves or enable someone else to be unpeelable
