Share your new DF Class build

Mainly PvP focused.

Both revolve around Mindflay: Insanity with fast DPs for more beefy flays with Mind Blast talents included, 1 has Mindbender included and the other has the 8% instant DP with a more support based outlook. No Voidform in either build (Finally, Thank you WoW Team!).

Mindbender/Mindflay: Insanity/Lunacy:

PoM Support/No Mindbender:

You can probably switch out the 8% Insta-DP for Mindbender as well since there might be enough insanity gen throughout the whole tree to not even worry about having that honestly.

If Dark Ascension didn’t have a cast time I’d drop Lunacy for it.

I was building something similar. In my build, I drop unfurling darkness, hallucinations and dark evangelism. Pick up piercing shadows and monomania in their place. I also opted for tormented spirits over auspicious spirits.

I’ve readjusted mine after learning about the SWD tooltip error (sad face).

Still hoping that Orbs is more Devour Plague focused so i can further switch into it.

Also would love to see mindspike not remove dots at all.

The only reason I personally wouldn’t do that is because of losing the free VT/SWP from Unfurling interacting with Misery, though I can see why you’d opt for Piercing over Evangelism. I wish I could do that and take Unfurling Darkness with it.

Class Tree:

Masochism might be a waste, depending on how long the dmg reduction is active. Depth of Shadows might be better earlier, but worst deep in dampening, so Masochism is probably better.

Throes of Pain might be good depending on tuning of SW: Pain.

Death and Madness is a double edged sword. Will have to play around with it to see if I like it.

Void Shield is a waste of a talent. I know PW: Shield got a buff but it was useless as a PvP talent before, it’ll probably be useless again. Instead take Apathy. Combine it with Mastermind in the Shadow Tree and it’ll proc a ton. A 75% slow is incredible; you might actually be able to kite melee for once.

The two points in Improved Fade will probably be float points. Need a shorter cd grip or MD, there’s your two free points. We will definitely need to test Blessed Recovery while being trained to see if it’s worth the point. I’ll probably take it over Imp Fade anyway, just to line up Imp Fade with Void Tendrils better.

Shadow Tree:

Mind Sear is an aoe spender. I would never take it in PvP, ever.

Not taking Hallucinations is a mistake. I’d remove the talent point from Auspicious Spirits just to take Hallucinations. Hallucinations is one of the main reasons why Shadow was even playable against double melee.

I like that you took Shadow Orbs without the talent even having a description. I did the exact same thing lol.

Not taking Malediction seems like a mistake. Although you have Damnation and Shadow Crash, you are still prone to getting VT dispel spammed. Buff VT dispel protection please. Double melee + rsham seems like it will be rampant with how insane their talents are looking, so good luck getting VTs out.

The two points in Psychic Link are wasted. I’d put them into Piercing Shadow; that’s basically a 5% damage increase. I’m assuming you can proc Piercing Shadow with SW: Pain casts too making it even better.

If you’re going to take Mind Flay: Insanity, you should probably take Monomania/Idol of C’Thun below and Mind Trauma from the PvP talents.

I’d take Lunacy over Idol of N’Zoth just due to consistency, but that’s just me. I’m also tired of Void Eruption so I don’t plan on taking it. Apparently Void Bolt cd got doubled, and they also removed the talent that allowed Mind Flay to proc a Void Bolt making Hungering Void less useful.

For your Shadow build:

Not taking Angelic Feather seems like a major mistake. Same with Leap of Faith. Leap is a game changing spell if used well.

Same comment with Andruel, Void Shield has been useless for as long as I remember when it got implemented as a PvP talent. Our shields aren’t as beefy as they were before. Apathy + Mastermind will do wonders for your kiting, especially if you include Void Tendrils or Fade.

I can see not taking Void Shift if the pacing of the game is too quick, but it will probably have a ton of uses in co-op PvP.

I can see why you took Tithe Invasion, but Hallucinations is just so much more consistent. If you’re getting trained you PW: Shield on cd, which gives your insanity. If you get kicked you can dispel for a bit of insanity as well.

I changed this one earlier. This build was more for Instant cast SWD with mind blast already removing your dots. it flowed with that desync. But i was informed and later saw myself from a video clip that PWD does not do the 250% Modifier it claims to do in WOWhead. Sadly.

I posted this earlier, but here you go again in case you are curious.

This is my current one for now – subject to change.

As for why I don’t take feather. For me personally, I’m fine with body and soul. There is so much mobility in this game that i find people are able to keep up with me unless its another SP or Warlock lol. Sad to say.

I did not take voidshift this build since i learned that Flash heal is baseline now.
And I learned that Shadowmend is a CD, so i took depth of shadows
Although I might be going back to Maso Cuze apparently, they both will heal for the same amount. So yeah, might just take Maso overall for Shadowmend.

this new one I don’t take anything in that node at all.
I hate void shield, I only took it cuze i was in that row to get Void shift so might as well make most of that crystalline reflection. But yeah that talent blows.
I personally wish they would just stop trying to modify PWS through talents and Buff it baseline.

I didn’t bother with apathy since the current playstyle for Mindspike feels to me CLUNKY AF so i won’t rely on it. Mind Blast is also being locked behinde this spell SUCKS. Plus the mobility in this game is so insane that it makes this talent not excite me at all. Dominate mind is potato.

Leap of Faith. Meh I rarely use it. I know it can be good but lol, i rarely use it. I rather save that mana for heals. We have so little mana to spend…

Here’s something I threw together after seeing your take. I’d use it in bgs.

no shadowed or full Mindgames? :open_mouth: how come?

BTw Focused mending will only do that increase healing on the First Tick. Just in case if you weren’t aware. I find it meh in SL so I never take it.

Question, i assume you wanna do some rot. Why not take Dark evangelisim? :o

My trees so far:

Disc raid:

Disc M+:

Holy Raid:

Holy M+:

As you’ll see, in M+ I deliberately lean more into healing options than damage options.

Not posting Shadow yet because some talents are not yet implemented. Really wanting to see Shadow Orb-related talents and hopefully some adjustments of their 2-min CD positions.

Focused mending is a flex point. The full mind games is a heavy investment and I’m not sure it’s worth the lost utility in bgs.

I don’t really have room for evangelism. I think access to voidform and 5% to all damage is better than 10% dot damage. I could drop vi and hallucinations to pick up dark evangelism but I think vi is more fun.

The real fun part will be that shadoworbs area, what could it be?!

Your absolutely right, i actually took it, because i didnt see i had already taken San’layn to unlock node.

I made some modifications based on your feedback. I also changed Shadow Crash for Void Torrent… that talent is too fun… However it depends, i see myself switching between the two depending on content…

Doesn’t it just make my enemies squeal, “nyiiiiiii”?

Didn’t take a look at all of it since I’m on mobile, but why go Void Shift?

I honestly think Void Shift is a trap. I mean it could be good in RBGs if you have a tank, but in most other forms of PvP you’re probably going to want to go Holy Word: Life.

It’s a REALLY STRONG heal. If you think about it, you’re only Void Shifting people who are below 35% anyway, and if you use Holy Word: Life on a target who’s 35% health or below, it’ll heal for 400% more and have a 10 second cooldown. I think it’s way more worth than Void Shift if we’re talking PvP.

What? No, I’m replying for Discipline. I don’t play Shadow so I don’t have feedback for that really.

Oh ops mybad lol nvm then let me relook

Here’s my Discipline build:
