I figured we could help each other out with sharing our best Brann builds for faster, more deathless delve runs. I’ll start.
Class/Spec: Tank Prot Pally, Templar hero talents.
Brann: set as DPS
Combat Curio: Reverse Engineer Goblin Death Bomb
Utility Curio: Overdrive Pylon
Why it works: with this combo, Brann and I speed run delves that used to take me twice as long on my prot pally. We burn it all down and cut the time in half. The curios chosen provide a bit of back up healing and damage mitigation. (Tbh I run Rev. Eng. Gob Death Bomb on all alts.) Brann doesn’t seem to draw agro as dps. His health was never low and didn’t rip threat from me. (Obv. he could depending on the scenario, but in three delves, he was sturdy as dps.)
Drawbacks: this is a dps heavy build for my prot pally, so self-healing takes a hit. I keep an eye on my word of glory recharges and have plenty of health pots.
What I’m looking for: A better Brann build for my frost mage.
Are yall using overdrive pylon for the whole run or change to it before the boss? I feel like for most of the run it would be waste since even at 11s most combats don’t last 30 seconds, unless you are chain pulling as a tank maybe.
As a healer using tank Brann, the pinged augment chip is great. Then I usually use the bio printer but not settled on that one yet.
.
I’ve been trying to get better about this. In season 1 they weren’t worth the time to look for compared to just running the delve faster for the end of run brann xp, but they do seem much better now.
I’m using the loot curio until Brann is 80. Finding the misplaced curiosities, which give decent Brann XP now, is a nightmare without it in some delves.
Since I’m a healer, I’m using the pinged curio in the other slot for now, also since it’s the first 4/4 I obtained.
Outlaw Rogue has probably one of the best movement speed in the game, allowing them to get in and out of the action. With the Footbombs being placed on the grounds for me to kick at the targets I can dart across the battlefield while closing in. Pacifist Rig is very strong for the damage it does and mine is currently 3/4, if I’m low on health and it shows up I pretty much have a window of damage immunity until Brann drops more potions on the ground.
It’s very good offensively while being very good defensively in my opinion.
Pinged Augment Chip imo is a no brainer for healers, replacing the Rage Idol from S1 giving Brann additional damage, max HP, and healing efficiency this time around. Only thing you have to worry about is the bot that can be dispelled or damaged by the player. The only sucky part about the bot is it sometimes spawns right on Brann instantly stunning him. Fortunately the stun can dispelled by healers. LOOT RAID-R not only scans the environment for curiosities but also increases damage dealt to enemies within the radius, synergizing real well with Pinged Augment Chip for Brann’s DPS.
Thanks for sharing this stuff. I like reading other’s takes and loadouts.
I’ve used brann’s 3d Printer in Utility slot and, on ret, it was doing 25% of my dps, according to Details, and I used Bouncing Grenade in the combat curio, which was doing 33% of branns damage, though he was tank. I’ve been running my t11 delves as ret primarily to complete the t11 ‘lives remaining as damage dealer’ achievements.
There’s some slick takes in here - to me - such as this:
I like diving deep into the theme of exploring caves, dungeons, and while this curio has some practical in-game benefits, it’s also cool from an immersion standpoint.
EC is just a corridor where you can hardly miss those things but the two I listed? Ugh, I’m not going out of my way to scout for those without the curio equipped lol.
It was the one thing that got me to finally bind an interact key. For two reasons, one is that without the coin, I might not see it, even if I’m at where it was marked on the map. For two, it eliminates the issue of him standing right on top of it so your cursor doesn’t change into a hand.
There is a third unrelated reason, it’s easier to fish with the interact button when creatures are floating around the bobber.
The ones in ES9 are so small, you usually still can’t see them when you’re interacting with them.
I’m also 47 and terribly near sighted, so it’s not like finding the easier to see ones weren’t already a hassle. Why aren’t they all the same size as the ones in say the Spiral Weave?
I don’t see why not, but I’m not a fan of backtracking and I’ll get more XP from another bountiful delve or on an alt if I already burned all four for the day. (Which hasn’t happened yet this season thanks to being sick and playing the AH boss.)
Thanks for the tips! Just did a bountiful T8 Sinkhole with the trove map as frost mage. Ran Frostfire and Brann as tank, changed a couple talents point in ice block, and ran the gob death bomb and overcharged plyon.
I tried several other combos with different curios and tried Brann as healer, as DPS, and died once every time on trash and reset. I ran the above combo with Brann as tank and no deaths, but it was pretty sketchy. Every time he went unconsious I ran and slowed enemies then hid in my ice block until he revived lol. Had to play it very, very defensively.
It paid off–got a Hero staff (Immolation Warning) that is a huge improvement over what I was using.
Does it still have glacial spike? I know it hits like a truck but I don’t have it on my mage opting for more FoF procs for more instant casts. I feel like a machine gun with the build I’m using.
