going top boost one or the other on grobb horde side today cant decide which to do i see hunters do pretty good dps (obv with gear) but if i went shaman id go ele cuz throwing meatballs is fun im leaning hunter but in reality i wanna go with which ever has the easiest learning curve rotation wise

I wouldn’t even bother if I were you. Now that XT has been nerfed, there is nothing to look forward to in this game. I give it about 2 weeks before most guilds fall apart due to boredom.

If you’re asking the forums which class is most needed. The answer is none. There is a reason we don’t have RDF and tell everyone to go back to retail. There is a reason why so many servers are locked still. That you can’t switch factions or race. That there is no RAF program.

Figure it out.

If it was me, and this is purely personaly ofc, I’d go hunter.
Elem is cool and all, but certain spell power pieces, offset pieces, are pretty competitive.

Hunters literally get every single Armor Pen piece, as Enha’s don’t need it. Tons of other agility arppen pieces that Assa rogues don’t need either.

Historically, Hunters have been the easiest ones to gear up, closely followed by Hpaladins…

I also think Hunter’s are more fun. In both PvP and PvE. Super mobile too in PvE.

Resto druid + Prot Warr + MM hunt were always my top 3. And later on Brewmaster Monk too.

how is the learning curve of hunter though ele shaman seems pretty simple like 3-4 buttons lighting bolt lava burst flame shock and chain lightening

Not too hard. In a nutshell.
Macro in Silencing Shot and Kill Command into your Chimera/Aimed shot. Can do both abilities into both of those. They are not on GCD so you want to spam them off CD.

Serpent Sting always must be present for Chimera to do bonus damage.
For AOE, always place Explosive Trap and Disengage away.
With high Armor Pen, do not use Arcane Shot. But do use it until like 700-800 arppen.

IIRC, you can always use Aimed and then Chimera shot, and this way they perfectly come off cooldown together. Pretty sure Aimed has 1-2s longer CD, so with 1 GCD it lines up perfectly.

Get Misdirection focus macro. Set tank in Focus. Or if you use some frames, like Vuhdo, can always just bind a mouse over. Or mouse over macro works too.

  1. Pre mark boss before pull.
  2. Serpent Sting
  3. Pop Rapid Fire.
  4. Aimed Shot + Chimera Shot (with Macro’d in Silencing and Kill Command)
  5. Pop Readiness and redo AImed Shot + Chimera shot. (macro will also repeat)
  6. Either use Rapid Fire again (after it falls off) or save it for next burst.
  7. Arcane SHot
  8. Steady as filler. Usually 2-3 in between at most.

PS. Also macro /petattack into Chimera or something. So pet will always go and attack your target.
PS#2. Makes me wnna go back and level my hunter too. I even got 5% ring from Fishing :smiley:

hmm ok im assuming orc for race cuz of the blood rage racial or troll for zerking ikd if BE is any good or if it even matters

Honestly, whatever looks cooler.
Mogs > logs. Negligible difference. Both troll’s and Orc’s racials do benefit hunter.

Look up how next sets look on all races and go off of that. But orc is cool indeed indeed.
I’m alliance for life tho.

Trap weaving is a thing for hunters, which seems tedious… but guess it’s not required.

You run in and drop traps when you can, something like that.

also prob have to time it well with range AA shot.
and Voila, you got yourself extra 200 DPS by adding in 5 more steps and bunch of WeakAuras to have it all timed perfectly in between CDs, GCDs, and AA’s.

Not worth the effort unless you’re like part of hardcore raiding guild who is really trying to parse in top 5%.

It isnt bad, but do you plan to be SV or MM?

prob MM but ill be starting at 70 so idk if MM is a decent spec for leveling

BM all the way for leveling. It’s not a great end game dps spec, but destroys for leveling.

BM is technically better for leveling. Your pet is jsut your god who will carry you. Especially if you spec it into AoE.
Protip - use misdirection on pet.
