I mean, as a general rule in Classic you will have one person spamming in Stormwind, one spamming in Ironforge, one spamming in the instance zone and using party chat to coordinate spamming.
Do you consider the entire server faction population doing something like “/join World” also not conducive to the WoW experience? A global chat channel would make the game more enjoyable and sociable tbh.

LFD on retail is a now a less than zero social environment IMO. At least NPCs would be zero.
I would rather group in Classic with other players: net positive. Sure there are some toxic players, but again, net positive.
OMG NOOOO A BETTER WAY TO FIND GROUPS!
ITS LIKE… WE ADDED THIS IN THE PREPATCH TO THE FIRST EXPANSION… FOR SOME REASON
lol, lul if you think spamming trade for groups is actually a decent idea… gtfo
They promoted “azeroth auto pilot classic” too so what can you expect from this trash site?

Our aim with these spotlights is to highlight interesting Classic Addons. We realize they may ruin the “Classic experience” for someone, but at the end of the day, nobody’s forcing you to use them😉 and you can play the game however you want . We need to cater to both audiences.
Icy Veins can jump off a cliff.

The reason why isn’t because of the functionality, it’s because of the randomness. When LFD was introduced, and in the expansions since then, it has brought in random players that aren’t on your server, and sure that reduced queue times, but it also reduced the social environment because the chances you’ll see those people again is extremely low.
That meant you rarely, if ever, forged connections with folks you ran dungeons with. It also increased the amount of bad/toxic behaviour in dungeons because there was no penalty from the ‘community’ for what you did. Back in the day, if you were toxic you quickly found yourself ostracized from your server because you’d get a reputation for your actions and word would get around to the point where no one wanted anything to do with you.
That penalty, that risk of being ostracized, that was what kept the toxicity mostly in check, because people wanted to be able to do BGs and dungeons with folks, so they kept their behaviour tame when they were in groups with other folks. But with the randomness of the LFD system? There was no need to keep that toxicity in check. You could be as toxic as you wanted until you got kicked and the only thing that you lost was time as you waited for the deserter debuff.
An LFD system wouldn’t kill classic WoW. But any cross-realm/randomness would. Want to know why an LFD system wouldn’t kill classic though? Because classic already had one. It was implemented in Patch 1.3 and expanded in Patches 1.5 and 1.9. It wasn’t close to what we got in WotLK when they revamped the system, there was no special UI, you couldn’t queue for a random dungeon, and you weren’t teleported into the dungeon or anything like that. You still had to run to the dungeon entrance (especially since meeting stones didn’t get summoning capabilities until 2.0) but the ability to queue for a dungeon was there.

Discord users are using it as a LFG tool.
Twitch streamers use their followers as a LFG tool.
The problem is that LFG outside of guild mates and in game chat channels already exists. Also, I am pretty sure this add on simply utilizes chat channel data to scan send and aggregate data.
Basically you are trying to ban an add on that simply sorts through the massive chat clutter instead of reading it all manually.
