Shamans should not have fire abilities

Hello guys,

Im here before you today to make an argument to remove all lava/fire abilities from shaman. This argument is largely based not only on the fact that fire tramples on the identity of mages, but also because it tramples on the identity of shamans.

As such i advocate that blizzard changes the abilities over to earth ones, changing lava burst into earth shard, removing flame shock, and simply making it so that lightning will grant instant cast charges of earth shard up to 5 stored. Swap out lava talent (pvp) and make it the same for earth shard and we have some nice earthy feelings.

you could say we are well grounded at that point. none of this messy, hot stuff.

fire is not an element?thats what the class uses the elemelts to do damage.

Yes, we should probably either delete frost DK’s or change all of their spells to something death like, but that means affliction has to be changed, and destruction warlocks should have everything except chaos bolt removed (kind of is like that already…) because of the fire.

Water elemental should be given to shamans…you know elemental shamans.

Sheep should be removed from mages too, that is too much like a Druid (and hex while we are at it)

Wow! This is going to be a great fix! Let’s do this!!!

All Shaman specs should use all elements.

Earth, Wind, Fire and Water.

Unfortunately Blizzard has mostly moved away from that which is sad.

Honestly I wouldnt mind seeing them more focused with one spec per element.

Enhancement: Mostly uses wind/storm stuff.
Elemental: Mostly uses lightning/fire stuff.
Restoration: Mostly uses water stuff.
And add a fourth spec for shaman tanking that uses earth.

Being able to use all 4 in any spec is a given, but each one should MOSTLY be using one element, with a spell or two from each other element thrown in as needed.

when it comes to fire on shamans, is not so much that fire itself is an issue many classes have elemental types shared by others, however, it is that the shaman itself has a unique positions to capitalize in earth magic, where other classses do not.

frost cannot make that position, and many other classes are not in a position, or practical (like removing lust from mage) enough to make that change.

Shamans however, are not in that position and are unique suited to go off record here and pick up more earth abilities.

We do use earth abilities. Earth Shock. Earthquake. Earth Elemental. Earth Shield. Earthen Spike.

Ah, and hear I thought Sunday threads could only be found in GD.

Bounced on my Shaman’s Fire Elemental for hours to the OP until it crit with a Lava Burst.
