Shamans should not have fire abilities

You’re going to make friends xD

Remove fire from mages. They have a unique position to capitalize in arcane magic. Remove fire from warlocks. They have a unique position to capitalize in fel magic.

Away with your forked tongue, serpent!

Locks just mad they can’t spell lock us out of spell casting LMFAO

Damage types aren’t meant to be unique. Holy damage, shadow damage, fire damage, frost damage all have multiple classes that use them.

Lightning and storm stuff are the same. Also, storm and fire aren’t the same, which means you have overlap, and multiple elements. Water is the healing element, mostly. Resto can’t survive on frost shock alone.

I know Warlocks are not intelligent , but coming from an Alliance Warlock …… that just make since . Ok Warlock , what are the four basic elements ? Don’t hurt yourself . Take your time . I’m sure you’ll get the right answer some day .

If we’re going by textbook RPG definitions of Shaman then technically it shouldn’t really have any interaction with elements at all and that the main interactions should be with nature and spirits.

However you have this spec called “Elemental”.

Dear Mr Blood Elf Paladin, that clearly doesn’t meet the definition of textbook definitions of Paladins,

The non WoW definition of shaman is completely irrelevant with the WoW definition of shaman.

I don’t agree with the OP but if you’re going to insult someone’s intelligence don’t do that. It’s sense, not since.

And the OP’s post was completely irrelevant to the WoW definition of Shaman, as he evidently cares more about giving other specs identity than making elemental use elements.

Making the class or spec into entirely earthen would make no sense in any form of context or definition look at while it is labelled Shaman.

I mean…yeah. I don’t agree with the OP either.

I’m gonna give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you’re just trolling.

Traditionally, Shamans should be using “Spirit” type abilities and things of the Astral realm.

For example we have “Astral shift” and “Spirit walk”(used to) and “ghost wolf” there has been enemies in the game that access these type of abilities. It would seem Blizzard is too proud, or not wanting to put fourth the effort to effectively re-design an old class entirely. It’s very rare anything like that ever happens.

I can say with great confidence what you see today, is what you’ll always see for shaman minus some small changes, or a talent. Nothing will change my friend.
they’ll put that time on making a new class all together. Tho I doubt they will do that. They’ve no need, they make tons of money with the ridiculous alt races they keep adding. All those things should just be standard customization options Lol.

what’s really stopping them? Money my friend, Money. If they’ve no need to, or are gaining nothing from it they won’t care.

Or maybe there is another theory.

Shaman are fine using the elements.

They don’t need to be a spirit based class only.

Its not a pride thing. Its not a money thing.

Mages should only use arcane. Frost and fire are element magic and should be shaman only.

Wow, this thread is still going… O_O

not only should shamans have fire abilities, elemental should have water based attacks.

the wave trink for example from palace, would be ideal concept for elemental, could add in a damage modifier bonus for lightning to play off water as a conduit.

Shamans using elemental spells is great and fine, but something I noticed in Legion (Specifically during Aggramar) we lack any direct control over other elementals. A Warlock has better control over elementals than us (Looking at you Banish)
