You’re joking right?
Reading. Comprehension.
I’ve never once said Shaman can’t Tank because of some meta, otherwise I’d say they aren’t a Tank by default and that would be that.
I do find it funny though that when I was talking about the people who are complaining about the shammy tank gimping their raid you think I was talking about you, someone I didn’t even know was in the thread.
I didn’t think you were just talking about me, but rather you came in assuming anyone attacking the idiocy of the OP was a meta slave (which included me since you didn’t specify).
In other words, you came in with a dumb assumption and fired it off without reading.
So Shaman can tank then is what you’re saying? Just not according to Meta standards is all.
Generally? No. That’s why they’re not a Tank class.
Specific encounters? Yes.
I am not exactly on the side of the people calling the guild that ran this sub standard players. You want to run the meta fine, but don’t call out others that want to push themselves in other ways.
If someone wants to prove they can figure out how to beat the game while tanking with a shammy that is fine, it doesn’t make them a sub standard player.
So if they tank every encounter in the raid they’re still not a tank…
The DPS were largely holding back or were played pretty poorly, but that’s not really relevant to the Tanking discussion. Holding threat only really matters if there is some kind of enrage mechanic or other hard timer you must beat to win, otherwise you can just go nice and slow if you have to. I suppose then Healer mana becomes the “enrage” timer but even without Paladins and Healers last a long time even in bad gear in Kara.
Agreed. Folks trying to cram square pegs into round holes are often not sub standard, since it requires a lot more time, gearing, and oddball strategy to pull off. However, sometimes all the best laid plans, buffs, debuffs, and oddball tricks pale in the face of a boss that 100-0’s you and your only hope is hoping you keep Dodging or Parrying.
They have to Tank every encounter first.
What dismisses the Shaman tanking that Kara then? Not tanking 1 of 11 bosses…
Please learn to druid before you try to shaman, 2nd!
The damage he took, notably on Prince and Nightbane. Tanks don’t rely upon RNG to survive, that’s what DPS in a bad situation do.
He died on Nightbane? Other tanks never die?
Pretty sure our Paladin tank got one shot by NB because he forgot his Holy shield. Does he not count as a tank? ( I don’t think so)
I think any tank who can’t parse well, i.e. contribute, to a boss kill shouldn’t count.
So why do you dps in bear?
If it’s a challenge run RNG isn’t enough to dismiss the run. I watch challenge runs for other games and the RNG is what makes it fun.
Fasc has never played this game with any real effort atleast observed.
The amount of RNG that goes into all World first kills… they dont count according to him!
If you can’t guarantee your survival from full health should the boss crush you, or the boss melee+breath on you, or whatever it is that that particular npc does: you’re not a Tank for that encounter.
This is no different than having a Mage with 7k health, fully buffed (somehow), trying to hang onto the High King mage mob, he’s just going to explode regardless of what the Healers do. That’s not a Tank.
Sure it is if you want it to be counted as actual Tanking.
not a tank
He can be a tank when he’s not holding back his DPS and being propped up by his healers. Did that raid 0 favors, just made things harder for everyone.
Challenge runs have different mindsets than the real thing. So many things can go wrong with all of the cards you stacked against you. Depending on what challenge you set you might even have to alter your playstyle entirely. It is why I like them.
Spoken like someone who hasn’t done anything hard ever…
You are entitled to your opinion.
Same goes for me, I think you’re a subpar druid who really could use some work. Stop trying to ruin meme specs and go read a guide on how to play buddy.
