Fasc defining the meaning of tanking feels like:
For the record, someone doing 300 DPS on Gruul is still a DPS.
Itâs not good DPS.
Still DPS.
I feel like this isnât a tough concept to understandâŠ
What about a Druid that canât break 90 on any parse? Can we say that theyâre not a real tank because clearly they canât step up and play properly?
I find it a little sad how many people saw some people having fun doing something with a class that wasnât meant to do it, then mocked them for using something non-meta and slowing a raid down.
Doubly so because half of them are also mocking the raid for being easy, which kinda makes you wonder why they feel the meta has to be strictly followed in the first place.
The communityâs definitely gotten obsessed with the parse meta as a measuring stick.
Cause we have a Druid that can only parse subpar and they need the validation somewhere else. Hence, their unbridled hatred for Shaman tanks.
âŠdo you not understand the meaning of the word âregardlessâ?
Youâre not reading properly and it is very sad.
Not my PARSES!?!?
By all means, offer up a definition. I canât move âpostsâ if you donât have any to begin with.
You wonât kill Gruul with people only doing 300 DPS, so no.
Is a 90 parse needed to kill the boss? No? Oh then why are you here?
Irony is the only people bringing up parses are those using them to attack anyone who isnât celebrating the Shaman dying repeatedly.
People tried to explain it to you but you moved your goalposts on the definition. Hence the meme.
Fasc trying to backtrack on not knowing what tanking is:
Did the Shaman tank need another tank to kill the boss? Why are you still talking?
Keep making excuses for why youâll never be good.
No, just needed way more healing than should be necessary.
Did they kill the boss?
Plus, how many groups 3 heal Nightbane because theyâre bad?
So the default definition is anyone that stands in front of a boss and holds aggro? So everyone? Neat.
Hint: If your role doesnât exclude anything, your role is meaningless.
Dead DPS still see dead bosses⊠I guess doing nothing is valid.
So there are no damaging roles since anyone who does damage is a dps?
Just admit defeat contrarian. Your argument is over lol.
Hardly, plenty of specs canât do sufficient DPS to kill a boss.
âNu UH!!!â
Okay.
So by this definition youâre not really a tank are you? Medicore just didnât fit the description.
You have trouble reading still?
Additionally, just because a pull results in a wipe and the boss triumphed over the raid, doesnât mean everyone didnât actually engage in their assigned role during that pull (irrespective of how well they did so).
And to answer the stupid question being asked:
Yes. Literally anyone can be a tank. Thatâs entire point being made.
Whether itâs done well or not is going to lean heavily on who has better talents and skills and stats to do it, but yes, literally every class could be called a tank if they did what this shaman did. If a mage did this, they tanked Kara. If a hunter did this, they tanked Kara. If a rogue did this, they tanked kara. Nobody has any issue with this basic tenet of reality other than one person.
âAnyone can do anything!â
LOL
Itâs funny isnât it!
A mediocre Druid thinking they know how to tank! LOL
To take a refreshing break from all of the negativity and completely pointless arguing in this thread.
Great job my man! That definitely takes coordination, and dedication. Hats off to you, and the raid group who contributed to making this happen.
