Why do you say that? Shaman puts out way more threat until the warrior gets decked out.

Threat only matters so much. There was a Vanilla video back in the day of a decked-out Shadow priest able to ‘tank’ a phase of Oni because of the threat it could pull with Mind Blast.
Threat matters, but it’s not the whole story. There’s a reason Druids and Palis can’t tank raids as main tank, and only part of it is threat.
You will have issues in the higher end dungeons for lack of plate gear and peoples DPS going up and fights lasting longer where mana is gonna be an issue.
These will always be the weaknesses just try to mitigate them as much as possible and you will be golden.

They never got a proper physical dps or ranged dps spec either.
The shaman talent tree, outside a few gems, is pretty weak. A shield talent with no accompanying shield spells or abilities, a +mana talent when Paladins get a +intellect talent, 2 talent points into ghost wolf cast that does nothing else, having to talent to use 2h weapons, having to talent to parry deep in the enhancement tree when level 1 pigs can parry, talents scattered across all 3 trees that made totems more useful…

I think Paladins can’t really MT since mana-drains render them useless.
Ferals can MT almost everything from what I recall.
Very few encounters have mana drains. It’s a weakness, but it doesn’t come up much, and you can just have someone else tank those fights.

I believe it at low levels sure. Looking forward to seeing if it’s an ongoing thing in Classic.
I plan on it… shamans are perfectly fine for tanking pre raid content. There are whole guides on it.

It didn’t happen in Vanilla either. Though you can make the argument that no one bothered in Vanilla and that the players know how to play and the encounters better. The hit rate seemed off to me based on levels.
