I ran a celestial instance, received the shadowy protector headpiece. i tried to turn it in for yaungol helm (the second offered)
it would not exchange, with no text to tell me why it wouldn’t.
i noticed it had the option to upgrade it twice. I did. Still wouldn’t exchange for mid or the 509 version.
it was from a celestial run, what did i do wrong, and why was there no text to tell me what i did wrong, or why the game masters (three different ones) could not help me?
and it got me again, this happened on Wynnefayel, realm arugal
than after you buy it you upgrade it through a person in the main panda faction city (one of the 2 shrines, depending on your faction) it is the same area where the transmog an reforger is at.
the biggest problem is, none of that was showing when i went to the vendor. I’m not even sure the little green ‘celestial’ tag was on the shadowy helm. It’s there now, and it may have been there, i just don’t remember seeing it, and i was looking for clues like that.
in any case, the shadowy protector had two upgrades available, so i thought i might need to do that before it was ready for turn in.
i have now tried to turn it in for all three types of yaungol helm, and none of the transactions will complete.
am i just stuck now with a worthless helm?
wait, is the heroic the final tier, or the celestial? As I said, i’ve tried to turn the shadowy helm in for each Yaungol helm, the shadowy helm has ‘celestial’ on it now (don’t know if it was always there) and i thought, since it was lower in the menu, it was more difficult than heroic.
secondly, since i used justice points to upgrade it (why are those even there???)
it wont turn in for any of them.
why isn’t there an ingame mechanic to either return it to its original unupgraded form, or allow the transaction once upgraded? I don’t care if the justice points are refunded or not, I just want to be able to turn in the blasted helm.
like the person above me said the order of which tier is what set, the upgrade is just to boost it up in ilvl but to get it to actually go to next one up you have to beat the correct boss in either normal or heroic diffculty so for the helm you would need to kill sha of fear in either normal or heroic to have a chance to get the tier helm to drop or extra rolled out.
Possibly you’re confused by the terms describing dungeons versus raids?
In dungeons, easiest to hardest it’s normal, then heroic, then celestial, then challenge.
For raids it’s just normal, then heroic.
So an item won in a celestial dungeon is several levels lower than the same item won in a normal raid, which in turn is several levels lower than the same item won in a heroic raid.
